After only two or three hands had been completed on each table since the break, tournament staff decided to trigger hand-for-hand mode three eliminations from the money bubble already.
2024 World Series of Poker
The action after the break slowed down on each table and there was only one flop to be seen after a four-way limped pot to the Q♥8♠7♣ flop. Noah Schwartz bet the pot for 300,000 in the small blind and Isaac Kempton called in the cutoff.
On the 3♠ turn, Schwartz got the last 250,000 in and Kempton called.
Noah Schwartz: J♠10♠9♦4♣
Isaac Kempton: 10♥6♦5♣4♥
Both players were on a straight draw while Schwartz also had a flush draw. The latter came with the 7♠ river and Schwartz doubled.

In a hand that lasted well into the break, even seeing the break extended by a couple of minutes, Santhosh Suvarna had defended his big blind against Ike Haxton's raise.
Suvarna then check-called Haxton's bet on Q♦9♦10♠ flop before leading out for 345,000 on the 10♦ turn. Haxton called and the 3♣ river completed the board.
Suvarna slowed down and checked, after which Haxton put him all in for his final 450,000 chips. Suvarna tanked for some time before eventually letting his hand go and taking the couple of minutes that were left on his break.

Isaac Kempton raised to 125,000 in the hijack and Petko Tsakov three-bet to 450,000 on the button with around 175,000 behind.
"Good luck, Sir. I am thinking about a flop," Kempton said.
Tsakov grinned back a, "thank you."
The flop brought 10♣5♣5♠ and Kempton moved forward a stack of T-25,000 chips, Tsakov called all in.
Petko Tsakov: A♠K♦K♥9♠
Isaac Kempton: K♠Q♠J♣9♣
The 6♣ turn instantly improved Kempton to a flush and Tsakov failed to catch a miracle on the 6♠ river.
"It's that easy?" Scott Seiver asked Kempton after he had watched the final outcome from up close.

Joshua Ladines had raised from middle position before Sean Winter three-bet to 435,000 in the small blind. Ladines called to see the J♦4♠Q♣ flop.
Winter then jammed all in for 210,000 chips and was called by Ladines, leading to a showdown.
Sean Winter: A♥K♦6♥6♦
Joshua Ladines: K♠10♦9♦2♠
Ladines had flopped a wrap and turned a flush draw with the 3♠. However, Winter's pair of sixes neatly held on the 2♣ river to secure his double-up.

Santhosh Suvarna limped in under the gun and Jim Collopy followed suit in middle position. Isaac Haxton then raised to 275,000 on the button. Suvarna folded before Collopy called.
On the subsequent J♥Q♣3♣ flop, both players checked. The 4♠ arrived on the turn and Collopy checked again before Haxton bet the pot of 745,000.
A quick fold followed from Collopy as Haxton chipped up.

Danny Tang repotted to get called by Jonathan Azoulay, who then checked and reluctantly called the shove by Tang for 150,000 on the K♣8♥5♦ flop.
Danny Tang: A♦A♥3♥2♠
Jonathan Azoulay: J♦J♠10♠7♠
Azoulay hit running cards to a straight with the 9♥ turn and 6♥ river, but the same runout also gave Tang the nut flush for the double.
In the meanwhile, Raphael Schreiner and Dirk Gerritse lost their short stacks in the same hand against Isaac Kempton. Their cards were already in the muck when Kempton raked in the pot, having rivered a set of deuces with Q♣Q♥2♣2♥ on a 10♠8♦7♣9♣2♠ runout.
According to Schreiner on the rail, he went down with KxKx5x4x while Gerritse had AxXx8x3x.
