Gryko Above a Million

Nível 13 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Scott Seiver check-called a bet by Richard Gryko on the 1093A turn for 40,000 and they both checked the 7 on the river.

Seiver announced queen-high and flashed just the QJ for the missed straight draw. Gryko had that beat with the QQJ5 and won the pot. With the loss, Seiver dropped to around the starting stack and then busted to Chase Steely shortly after.

Riordan and Pham Out, Weisman in

Nível 13 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Eric Kurtzman potted his button, John Riordan three-bet his big blind, and Kurtzman put Riordan all in for 205,000 total. Riordan called and the players tabled their cards.

John Riordan: A10107 All in
Eric Kurtzman: QQ93

"I need a shit board," Kurtzman stated.

The J9634 runout appeared to be bad enough for Kurtzman, as he made two pair, nines and treys, and busted Riordan.

One hand before, Cong Pham was eliminated from this table and reentry Dylan Weisman took his seat.

Daniel Eliminated by Ladines

Nível 13 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Tomer Daniel was all in for 325,000 on a flop of Q87 and up against Joshua Ladines over on Table 139.

Joshua Ladines: KK63

The two pair of Daniel were ahead against a flush draw and overpair. Nothing changed with the 5 turn but the 10 river improved Ladines to the king-high flush and spelled the end for Daniel in this tournament.

The 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event was officially underway at a few minutes after noon PT on Wednesday. And for two players, the dream to become world champion ended a few minutes later.

Over 1,300 players were registered at the start of Day 1a, a group that included some big name players such as Michael Mizrachi and Freddy Deeb. Defending champion Daniel Weinman got the party started by announcing "shuffle up and deal" following an introduction from Jack Effel. And then the fireworks began one day before the Fourth of July.

More Early Entries and Casualties

Nível 13 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

The field has already reached 171 entries and the late registration is open for another 15 minutes or so.

Brewer Busts Ajayi

Nível 13 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Adedapo Ajayi's final 50,000 chips flew in on a flop of 3K9, with around 140,000 of them already in the middle. Chris Brewer had looked him up as the cards were tabled.

Adedapo Ajayi: K1083 All in
Chris Brewer: AKQ10

Ajayi had flopped two pair, but the 59 runout counterfeited him as it gave Brewer kings and nines with a higher kicker.

Blom Falls to Yockey

Nível 13 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

In a three-bet pot with 160,000 each in the middle, Viktor Blom was then all in after the AJ8 flop against Bryce Yockey.

The Q turn improved Yockey to Broadway and made the Q river a formality.

Daniel Doubles Up on Final Bullet

Nível 13 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Tomer Daniel raised to 45,000 in the cutoff and was three-bet to 160,000 by Michael Moncek in the cutoff. Daniel pushed in a call before he jammed all in for 170,000 on the flop of K63.

Moncek made a quick call to put Daniel at risk on his third and final entry of the tournament.

Tomer Daniel: 8764 All in
Michael Moncek: AA53

The 8 turn gave Daniel two pair to take the lead and the 9 river changed nothing to give him the double-up.

Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Daniel Negreanu was already recording his final showdown when he got it in with the AA73 and was up against the 9865 of Philip Wiszowaty. The K87104 board gave Wiszowaty a straight and he scored the second knockout of the day, as Rob Hollink had also been eliminated on the same table.

Negreanu reentered for his final bullet and returned to the same table, taking a seat right next to Wiszowaty.
