David Funkhouser

Chance Kornuth opened the hijack to 20,000 and David Funkhouser three-bet the cutoff to 65,000. In the small blind, Bin Weng cold four-bet to 150,000, Kornuth folded, and Funkhouser tanked for a while before he called.

Weng stood pat, and Funkhouser appeared displeased with his decision. After about a minute he decided to pat behind.

Weng didn't take long before he jammed for 229,000 effective as the covering stack and Funkhouser beat him into the pot as he announced, "Number two," and tabled 7x6x4x3x2x while Weng mucked.

"You would have stacked me too. I had a big hand," commented Kornuth from across the table as Funkhouser dragged the largest pot of the tournament.

Nível 18 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 15,000 ante

Tzupeng Wang raised to 60,000 in the hijack and was called by Alex Epstein in the big blind. Epstein drew two cards and so did Wang.

Epstein then checked to Wang, who made a bet of 50,000.

"I threw away two eights, I should have snowed," Epstein lamented. Eventually, he tossed in a call and Wang tabled 9x6x4x3x2x for a nine-low.

Epstein mucked his cards as the pot was shipped to Wang, who became the table chip leader by winning it.

Limpin' is Pimpin'

Nível 18 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 15,000 ante

This is just the second year that limping is allowed in the single draw variant at the WSOP. Some players have been utilizing this strategy throughout the tournament.

Dario Alioto limped from the hijack, Owais Ahmed limped behind on the button, Michael Dreese completed the small blind, and J Austin Hijar checked his option in the big blind.

Dreese drew two, Hijar drew three, and both Alioto and Ahmed took one.

The action checked to Alioto who bet 31,000 and only Dreese called.

Dario Alioto: 6x5x4x3x2x
Michael Dreese: 10x9x7x6x3x

Alioto had made a straight while Dreese called him down with a ten-nine to drag a modest pot as the field size ticked down to 33 players remaining.

Kornuth Over-Bets Harman as Depaulo Departs

Nível 18 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 15,000 ante

The action was caught after the draws, where Jen Harman, under the gun, checked to Chance Kornuth in the hijack. Kornuth then fired a bet of 110,000 into a pot of roughly 75,000 chips.

Harman went deep into the tank but eventually emerged with a call. Kornuth tabled 8x7x6x5x3x for an eight-low, and Harman tossed her cards, as well as those of her opponent, into the muck.

On another table, Ryan Depaulo was eliminated from the $1,500 2-7 Single Draw, picking up his third straight cash in this event.
