Koray Aldemir opened the action with a raise to 4,500 from early position. The big blind called.
Aldemir continued for 2,000 on a rainbow A♦6♣10♥ flop and his opponent made the call.
The turn 5♦ peeled off and Aldemir fired again, this time for 4,500. The big blind called.
Aldemir bet 15,000 on the Q♣ river forcing his opponent all in, and he made the call. The 2021 Main Event Champion rolled over A♣10♣ to scoop the pot. His opponent tabled 10♦6♦ for a worse two-pair, and he was eliminated.
Karo Davtyan and Arash Behnam were sitting next to each other in the blinds and the first hand started innocently enough. Davtyan completed the small blind and Arash Behnam checked his option.
They saw a flop of 8♦6♦5♥. Davtyan bet 4,000 and Behnam raised to 10,000. Davtyan called.
The turn was the 4♣. Davtyan again decided to lead, it was for 10,000. Behnam raised all in, which Davtyan snap-called.
Behnam turned over Q♠4♥, while Davtyan had 7♠9♣ for the flopped nut straight.
A few hands later, Davtyan opened 4,000 from early position. Behnam called. Players in the small blind and big blind also called. Davtyan told PokerNews to stick around, saying that we are about to get a better story.
The flop came 5♣2♣Q♦. Both blinds checked and Davtyan continued for 6,000. Behnam called and the blinds folded.
5♠ rolled off on the turn. Davtyan bet 10,000 and after a moment of thinking, Behnam raised to 60,000. Davtyan quickly moved all in and Behram called for the few chips he had left behind.
Karo Davtyan: 2♦2♠
Arash Behnam: A♥5♥
This time, it was a cooler for Behnam, as Dautiyan flopped a set and turned the full house, while he made trips on the turn. Behnam still had seven outs to a better full house, but the river 8♠ was not one of them and a pot of around 180,000 chips was sent Davtyan’s way.
Action was on the turn as the board read 6♣10♥3♠10♣. Dean Lyall bet 14,000 and Asher Conniff called.
The river came the 8♦. Lyall moved all in for about 96,000 which had Conniff covered. Conniff went into the tank and had to think about it for quite a while before he eventually decided to fold.
Action folded around to Samuel Gagnon on the button who raised to 75,000, covering both blinds. The big blind player stuck his last 26,500 in the middle and players went off to a runout.
Big Blind: A♦K♠
Samuel Gagnon: A♣7♣
The board ran out 7♥10♦J♦5♣9♠ and Gagnon caught a seven to send his opponent packing and chip up.
The button opened the action with a raise to 5,000. Romain Morvan three-bet to 16,000 from the big blind and his opponent made the call.
Morvan continued for 8,500 on 2♥9♦2♣ and the button called.
Morvan checked over the 9♥ turn to his opponent who wagered 12,500. Morvan called.
Morvan checked for a second time on the 6♦ river, and the button moved all in for 37,000. Morvan made the difficult call and was rewarded the pot. His opponent tabled K♠7♠ for a bluff while Morvan rolled over A♣J♣ to double up.
Action was just ending at a table as a player was off in a huff, evidently angry at what had just happened. The board showed 7♠3♣A♠10♦2♥.
The losing set of 7♦7♣ was turned over as Adam Carter had turned the winner with the 10♣10♠. He gathered in the decent sized pot as his opponent was leaving the premises.
