Props, Family & Fortnite: For the Four Members of Team Lucky It's About Much More Than Poker

Nível 14 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Team Lucky
Team Lucky

With 14 bracelets and nearly $50 million in tournament earnings between the four of them, there's no denying that Shaun Deeb, Josh Arieh, Daniel Weinman and Matt Glantz are poker crushers. But with resumes that include a $1 million bounty pull, a body fat prop bet victory worth nearly the same amount and a win in the biggest World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event in history, it's clear the group of close friends also have luck on their sides.

The four American poker players have branded themselves as "Team Lucky" — a name that Deeb may have come up with, though they aren't certain — as a way of consciously embracing and owning their good fortunes while fighting back against the jaded cynicism all to common in the poker world.

But Team Lucky is about more than once-in-a-lifetime bounty binks and turned two-outers leading to $12 million scores. As PokerNews learned during brunch with its four members, is more about friendship, camaraderie, and shared values than a good run of cards.

Wilson's Cowboys Run Into Aido's Aces

Nível 14 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Brandon Wilson
Brandon Wilson

Chris Brewer opened from middle position to 80,000 and Brandon Wilson three-bet to 180,000 from the hijack. Sergio Aido then cold four-bet to 385,000 from the cutoff, and Brewer made the fold. Wilson then shoved all in for around 850,000, and Aido snap-called.

Brandon Wilson: KK All in
Sergio Aido: AA

The board brought no surprises as the runout of 103358 meant Wilson was eliminated.

Ju Knocks Out Hrabec

Nível 14 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Samuel Ju and Roman Hrabec got it all-in preflop, with Hrabec at risk.

Roman Hrabec: AJ All in
Samuel Ju: AK

Hrabec pulled ahead on the 76J flop, pairing his jack, but the K turn put Ju back in the lead, with a pair of kings. The river brought the 3, and Hrabec was sent to the rail.

Kabrhel Felts Oya

Nível 14 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Masashi Oya
Masashi Oya

Start of day chipleader Masashi Oya was unable to replicate his dominating performance from Day 1 and found himself all in for his last 585,000 against Martin Kabrhel. Michael Moncek was also all in, though only for 25,000.

Michael Moncek: 109 All in
Masashi Oya: AK All in
Martin Kabrhel: AQ

Oya had Kabrhel dominated, that is until the flop came 86Q. Nothing changed for Oya on either the J turn or 3 river, though Moncek did make a straight to more than triple up. Despite this, Moncek joined Oya to the rail a few hands later.

Blom Rivers the Nut Flush

Nível 14 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

On a board of AJQK9, Viktor Blom had fired a river bet of 420,000 into Samuel Ju. It took a while for Ju to make a decision but eventually he decided to call, and was shown some bad news.

Blom flipped KQ for the nut flush, and Ju could only muck his hand.

Brutal River Leaves Moncek With Dust

Nível 14 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Seth Davies
Seth Davies

Picking up the action partway through the hand, Seth Davies in the small blind and Michael Moncek in the big blind were all in with nearly identical stacks.

Seth Davies: 1010 All in
Michael Moncek: AK

It was a flip with enormous equity implications for both players. The 59A flop immediately vaulted Moncek into the lead while the 4 turn left Davies needing a miracle to survive. A miracle did come on the 10 river to give Davies a massive double to leave Moncek with dust.

Wasserson Puts Kornuth to the Test

Nível 14 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

With about 400,000 in the pot and the board reading 2869K, Kornuth bet 200,000 and Wasserson moved all-in for 1,025,000 total.

Kornuth thought about his decision for a moment, before ultimately arriving at a fold.
