No Showndown for Oya

Nível 5 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Masashi Oya opened 11,000 in middle position and both Curtis Meeks and Sam Soverel came along from the blinds.

The action checked to the QJ7AK river, and both Meeks and Soverel checked once more before Oya flung 30,000 across the line. That was enough to drag the pot as both players quickly released their hands.

Michael Jordan (sorry, LeBron James fans). Tom Brady. Tiger Woods. Serena Williams. Phil Ivey. What do these five superstars have in common? They're all widely considered the best to have ever done it in their respective sports.

On Thursday, Ivey captured his 11th World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet when he took down Event #29: $10,000 Limit 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw Championship (6-Handed). That puts him alone in second place behind the 17 bracelets Phil Hellmuth holds.

Frank Funaro

Pieter Aerts opened 9,000 under the gun and both Frank Funaro and Phil Ivey called in the blinds.

All three players checked to the QJ86 turn, where both Funaro and Ivey checked once again. Aerts bet 10,500 and Funaro check-raised to 62,000. Ivey quickly got out of the way and Aerts made the call.

When the K landed on the river, Funaro jammed all-in and Aerts snap-called his remaining 178,000.

Funaro tabled A10 for Broadway but Aerts rolled over AJ for a flush as he scooped a double-up.

Morten Klein
Morten Klein

Picking up the action on the flop, Morten Klein in the cutoff was involved in a hand with Santosh Survana in the small blind as well as [Removed:564] in the big blind.

With the board reading 946 action checked to Klein. He bet 15,000, receiving a call from Survana. [Removed:565], however, responded with a raise to 55,000. Klein called while Survana folded.

[Removed:565] slowed down on the K turn, checking to Klein, who fired off 76,000. After burning a time extension, [Removed:565] called.

The K river paired the board and saw Klein move all in after [Removed:565] checked to him. [Removed:565] was the effective stack with around 140,000 behind and ultimately decided to preserve his remaining chips by conceding the pot to Klein.

Schutten Fires Three Barrels

Nível 4 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

In a blind versus blind situation, Brek Schutten limped so Leon Sturm only had to check his option to find a flop of 66J.

Schutten bet 4,000 and was called, so he fired a second barrel of 10,000 on the 8 turn. Sturm called once again.

The 7 river completed the board and Schutten bet 18,000. But this time, Sturm decided to fold.
