Hawkins Has Aces Working For Him

Action was caught on the river on 2♣6♠10♦5♣3♥. Besmir Hodaj was under the gun and was facing a river jam from Maurice Hawkins, who was directly to his left. The bet was 450,000 into a pot of about a million.

Hodaj had a tough decision and had the clock called on him. As the last five seconds were running out, he put in the chips.

Hawkins turned over A♣A♥. Hodaj mucked his hand.

It has been a rollercoaster couple of days for Hodaj, who at one moment was among the chip leaders on Day 1, then finished the day with around 300,000, was then able to run it up on Day 2 to almost 1,500,000 chips. The unlucky clash with Hawkins got him back down to just over 20 big blinds.

Hawkins, on the other hand, has been having a lot of fun at his table, saying that he has had pocket aces four times today, and has hit a set on at least one occasion. He is now the tournament chip leader by quite a large margin.

Action picked up on the turn in a hand between Day 1 chip leader Joshua Wang and Giuseppe Pantaleo.

The board showed 4♠10♥5♥5♣ and action fell on Pantaleo, who was to Wang’s immediate right and led out with a 100,000 bet

Wang slightly leaned forward to look at his opponent’s chip stack before leaning back in his chair. He then reached into his stack, grabbed a full barrel of chips and announced an all-in bet to put Pantaleo at risk.

What Pantaleo might have held won’t be known, though, as he quickly folded the hand.

Pecheux's Flush Beats Foxen's Ladies

A player in early position player raised to 32,000. Erwann Pecheux called. Kristen Foxen then three-bet to 115,000. The original raiser folded and Pecheux made the call.

The dealer fanned the 8♠3♦4♦ flop. Pecheux checked and Foxen bet 70,000. Pecheux then went all in for 326,000 and was at risk. Foxen quickly made the call.

Emig Secures Triple Up

Anna Antimony raised to 35,000 in early position, but then faced a three-bet all in from [Removed:471], who put himself at risk with his remaining 170,000.

The situation ratcheted up when Cody Rich then moved all in out of the small blind for his remaining stack.

Antimony asked for a count and the dealer confirmed Rich had a little more than 340,000, which Antimony covered. She briefly pondered the situation before making the call.

Action was picked up on the river in a hand between Massimo Costantini and Michael Jozoff with a board reading J♦6♦9♦4♣7♠. With roughly 200,000 already in the pot Costantini checked out of the small blind before Jozoff reached for a stack of green chips and slid them in the middle. His wager of 500,000 was enough to put Costantini all in. Constantini went into the tank, and told Jozoff "I'm considering calling you very light." after a few more moments Constantini made the call.
