The chips went all in before the flop, but not without a little controversy. Jeffrey Vertes had raised from the hijack and Oblip Kuppusamyvenkates three-bet from the small blind. Vertes put a pile of chips in the middle and flipped over his cards, the J♦J♥.
Vertes mistakenly thought Kuppusamyvenkates had gone all in, but he had one 25,000 chip behind. After the tournament director explained that Kuppusamyvenkates gets to make a decision as he would if he didn’t know the cards, he put in his last chip in the middle.
