Maceiras Lapido Sends Therme To The Rail

Nível 29 : Blinds 100,000/150,000, 150,000 ante
Jonathan Therme
Jonathan Therme

Juan Maceiras Lapido raised from the small blind and Jonathan Therme called out of the big blind. A first barrel by the Spaniard followed on the A98 flop after which Therme called with some 2,800,000 behind.

Maceiras Lapido then splashed in nine of the new one million chips after the 6 turn and that sent Therme into the tank.

After several minutes, Adam Walton said "I know it's a big spot but I gonna call clock in a minute" and did so one minute later.

The thirty seconds ran down and Therme called at the last second.

Jonathan Therme: Q9
Juan Maceiras Lapido: J4

The 3 river improved Maceiras Lapido to a flush and Therme was eliminated.

Shell-Shocked: Scroggins Busts Berrio in Final Hand Before Dinner

Nível 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

One last hand was running on the outer tables and it provided fireworks with a small rail gathering.

Following a raise by Mikael Berrio, Daniel Scroggins three-bet to what appeared to be 1,050,000 out of the small blind, which Berrio called.

The duo headed to the 1062 flop on which Scroggins continued for 750,000, receiving a call by Berrio.

That brought them to the J turn. Scroggins checked. Berrio bet 1,300,000 with around 2,500,000 behind and Scroggins jammed to see Berrio snap-call.

Mikael Berrio: JJ
Daniel Scroggins: QQ

Berrio was ahead with a set of jacks while Scroggins had hearts and the two remaining queens at his disposal.

The river brought the Q and Berrio was shell-shocked for more than two minutes before slowly gathering his belongings. Scroggins jumped to a massive 27 million in chips and headed into the dinner break as the overall chipleader.

Four-Way All-In Results in Two Casualties

Nível 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Steven Spunt had lost the vast majority of his stack in the previous hand and was in the big blind next. Yaroslav Ohulchanskyi raised from the hijack and Bradley Moskowitz jammed all-in from the cutoff with a shorter stack.

Allen Chang moved in from the small blind while Spunt was in there from the next seat. Ohulchanskyi called all-in to create a four-way all-in on a pay jump with three players at risk.

Steven Spunt: 65
Bradley Moskowitz: AK
Yaroslav Ohulchanskyi: KK
Allen Chang: 99

The board ran out 5327Q and Spunt fell in 81st place, while Moskowitz earned the pay jump in 80th place. Ohulchanskyi won the side pots and soared past Chang.

"I was waiting for this hand all day long," Moskowitz said before he and Spunt were escorted to the payout desk.

Last Woman (Still) Standing

Nível 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Estelle Cohuet
Estelle Cohuet

Estelle Cohuet, who became the last woman standing in the record-breaking Main Event following the elimination of Nikita Luther, was under the gun in a heads-up pot against Toby Lewis in the hijack.

Cohuet bet 325,000 on the flop of 328 and Lewis called. Cohuet then quickly moved all in for around 1,050,000 on the Q turn to send Lewis into the tank. Cohuet covered her face with a scarf as she waited for an action from Lewis, who eventually folded.

Torelli Celebrates with a Set of Crabs

Nível 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Alec Torelli
Alec Torelli

Jose Aguilera opened to 250,000 in early position and Zachary Hall called from the next seat before Alec Torelli came along from the big blind.

Torelli and Aguilera checked on the 36J flop and Hall bet 175,000. Torelli check-raised to 700,000 and Aguilera folded as Hall called.

Torelli then bet 1,600,000 on the 8 turn and Hall took some time before putting out a stack of 500,000-chips to raise Torelli all in. Torelli quickly called with a stack of 4,785,000.

Alec Torelli: 33
Zachary Hall: 55

"I didn't think you had that," Hall said glumly after seeing Torelli was far ahead with a set.

The 7 bricked off on the river to avoid a gross two-outer and Torelli did a lap and clutched his heart after securing the big double-up through the start-of-day chip leader.

Cruel Cooler Ends Silver's Run

Nível 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Nate Silver
Nate Silver

Henry Chan raised to 250,000 from the hijack and was called by both Nate Silver in the cutoff and big blind Tony Dunst.

The flop came 672 and action checked to Silver, who bet 330,000. Dunst folded 55, but Chan raised to 1,400,000. Silver then reraised all in for 5,165,000 and Chan snap-called, having Silver barely covered.

Nate Silver: 66
Henry Chan: 77

The FiveThirtyEight founder and pollster understood the sheer improbability of the cooler he had just run into as Chan showed him a higher set.

Silver shot back in his chair as the board ran out Q3, sending him to the rail in brutal fashion.

Kothari Folds QUEENS

Nível 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Harsheel Kothari
Harsheel Kothari

Harsheel Kothari opened to 300,000 from the hijack. Action folded to Mitchell Halverson in the small blind, who raised to 2,000,000, leaving 560,000 behind.

Kothari was immediately pained and began counting out his stack. He narrowly covered Halverson and continued to mull over his options for a few minutes.

Kothari asked Halverson if he would show and received no reply.

"This would be a sick fold," Kothari said. "Nothing will compare."

In the end, he returned his cards to the dealer.

Halverson asked if he had a big hand and Kothari said he did. The pair agreed to both show their holdings.

Kothari turned over QQ for pocket queens while Halverson got away with one as he was behind with AJ.

"Love that fold bro," remarked Halverson while scooping in the pot.

The table joked that the ace was coming anyway so Kothari did himself a favor.

Jachtmann Puts Berko In the Tank, on the Clock

Nível 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Jan-Peter Jachtmann
Jan-Peter Jachtmann

The action was picked up in a pot of roughly 2,000,000 on a flop showing K108. Scott Berko fired for 500,000 from the small blind and Jan-Peter Jachtmann slid out a raise to 2,000,000.

"I'm going to be awhile guys," Berko said as he crawled deep into the tank. After close to four minutes, Jachtmann called the clock on Berko, who then had 30 seconds to act.

As the clock ticked down, Berko made the fold with a few seconds left and Jachtmann scooped the large pot to bring his stack over 10 million.

Things got heated at the table between Jachtmann and Berko, who continued to argue after the hand about when a reasonable amount of time is to call the clock.

Anirban Das
Anirban Das

Anirban Das opened to 240,000 in middle position and Juan Maceiras Lapido defended out of the big blind.

Lapido checked on the flop of Q10Q and Das checked back. Lapido then bet 400,000 on the 3 turn and Das called.

The 6 river completed the board and Lapido threw out a bet of 1,600,000 that included three 500,000-chips. Das responded by pushing out two stacks of 100,000-chips for a raise to 4,000,000.

Lapido snap-folded and Das kept him guessing by revealing the A.
