Parry Eventually Grabs Chip Lead in Huge Pot

Matthew Parry and Kyle Merron had reached the turn in a pot that had already swollen to over one million chips. Parry checked to Merron from the big blind on the A♦7♥7♦A♣ board and Merron added 900,000 more to the pot on the button. Parry then check-raised to 2,100,000 and this move sent Merron into a tank that would last for several minutes.

Eventually, he made the call and the 2♦ river subsequently arrived. Parry now went all in, covering the 2,075,000 chips Merron had left himself behind. Another long tank followed from Merron.

"If I had a full house, I obviously would have called by now," Merron explained.

Ultimately, though, he let it go, shipping the big pot to now-chipleader Parry, and play on the final two tables could finally continue.

On a flop of 4♥5♣K♠, Zhen Cai checked the small blind over to Ian Matakis who tossed out a bet of 500,000.

Cai had only 100,000 or so more a decided it was time to put them all in the middle. Matakis called, sending both players to a runout with Cai at risk.

Cai had an open-ended straight draw but when the turn and river ran out the J♥ and Q♠, the board completed the nut straight for Matakis to send Cai home in ninth place for $42,107.

Dimtrios Michailidis Eliminated in 10th Place ($32,272)

Connor Drinan raised his button to 160,000 before Dimitrios Michailidis three-bet the pot in the big blind. The total was 520,000 and Drinan ruminated for a bit before making the call.

The flop was then fanned out 7♥6♥5♣ and Michailidis weighed his options for a while before committing the rest of his 975,000 chips. Drinan snap called with the covering stack and both the players' hole cards were revealed.

Lawrence Wayne limped in from the button and Connor Drinan completed his small blind. Sokchheka Pho checked his option in the big blind and the dealer spread a flop of 8♠7♣4♥, which got checked through.

Pho then was the first to bet on the 10♣ turn, for 200,000 chips, leaving himself 350,000 behind. Wayne folded but Drinan made the call. On the 4♠ river, Drinan led and put Pho all-in, and Pho quickly called.

Drinan had rivered tens full with 10♠10♦8♦5♠ and beat the turned straight of Pho, who played A♠K♦J♦9♥. Pho shook his head and collected his payout, while the ten remaining players kept battling.

Dustin Goldklang started the action with a raise to 160,000 from under the gun. Ian Matakis then called from the button as did Brandon Shack-Harris from the small blind.

However, Will Berry sat in the big blind and had a different idea. He raised it up to 600,000 chips, leaving only 300,000 behind. Goldklang folded before Matakis went into the tank for a while. After some time, he came out with a four-bet jam, covering both remaining players. Shack-Harris folded quickly and Berry commited the rest of his chips.
