Dia 1a Iniciado

Welcome to Day 1a of Event #81: $600 Ultra Stack No-Limit Hold'em

2023 WSOP Gold Bracelet
2023 WSOP Gold Bracelet

New for this year, 2023 World Series of Poker Event #81: $600 Ultra Stack No-Limit Hold’em will kick off today, June 11th at 10 a.m. local time at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas and is sure to be one of the summer saver events heading down the stretch, as players are able to reenter up to two times across both Day 1 flights. Players surviving today will advance to Day 2 on Thursday, July 13th to find themselves one step closer to the coveted WSOP bracelet.

Just like the temperature in Las Vegas, the player of the year race is heating up, meaning we could see the likes of such players as Shaun Deeb, who currently sits third on the list, and Chad Eveslage and Jeremy Ausmus, both in the top ten, in the field with the hopes of deep runs in order to increase their positions in the race.

Other notable players who may grace the field after their main event ambitions have been tragically cut short include the likes of three-time bracelet winner Kristen Foxen, two-time bracelet winner and former WSOP Player of the Year, Erick Lindgren and Star Craft Pro and popular streamer, Yohwan Lim

Players taking their seats will receive 60,000 starting chips, this being the Ultra Stack, and all, and will endure 22 30-minute levels with a 20-minute break after every four levels of play. Blinds will start at 100/200 with a 200 big blind ante and late registration closes after Level 12 (approx. 5 p.m.).

As always, keep it here as PokerNews brings you live coverage of this bracelet event.

Early Straight Flush for Yezzo

Nível 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Nick Yezzo raised to 500 on the button and was called by both blinds.

Yezzo continued for 700 on the well-connected 9J10 flop and was raised to 2,000 by the player in the big blind, with the player in the small blind getting out of the way and Yezzo making the call.

The board became even more interesting on the Q turn, prompting both players to check.

The player in the big blind check-folded to a river bet of 3,000 from Yezzo on the K river and Yezzo tabled the K10 to show the straight flush.

Brown Takes One in Battle of the Blinds

Nível 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Action folded around to the player in the small blind who raised to 600, with August Brown making the call from the big blind.

The player in the small blind continued for 400 on a 10106 flop and Brown made the call.

The 8 on the turn was a cause for pause for the small blind player, checking the action over to Brown who put out a bet of 1,000, with the small blind player making the call.

Both players checked the 7 river and Brown took the pot after tabling J6 for two pair, with the player in the small blind showing AJ for ace-high.

Early Double for Kwan

Nível 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Action caught up with Derek Kwan rasing to 4,400 from the big blind against an early position open, with the early position player making the call and the two players going heads up to the flop.

It was all nines on the 999 flop. Kwan continued for 3,500 and the early position player min-raised to 7,000. Kwan made the call.

Kwan checked the J turn to the early position player, who bet 6,500, and after some deliberation, Kwan moved all in and got the call.

Early Position: KJ
Derek Kwan: QQ

The early position player connected on the turn, but was still behind the overpair of Kwan. A king or a jack was needed, but the 6 on the river sealed up the double for Kwan and sent the early position player to the rail.
