Event #68: $1,000 Super Turbo Bounty
Dia 1 Concluído
What was scheduled to be a one-day event has yet to conclude with the winner of Event #68: $1,000 Super Turbo Bounty at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas remaining undecided. After 32 levels of play, the floor made the decision to bag and tag the remaining nine players who will return on June 30 and play down to a champion.
Day 1 saw a field of 2,854 entries generating a prize pool of $2,513,360, of which 424 players were paid. The bubble burst, securing all remaining players a minimum cash of $1,062, while they all had their eyes firmly set on the grand prize of $228,632. In addition to their payout, each player was entitled to a $300 dollar bounty for every opponent they eliminated from the tournament.
Throughout the day, many notable names tried their luck at what was one of the WSOP’s fastest-structured events, including David Peters, Shannon Shorr, and Maria Ho. Of those to make the money included Benny Glaser, Chris Moorman and Joe Cada who had a deep run finishing 112th.

As the players bagged for the night, the chip leader looked to be Gabriel Schroeder from Brazil, who is taking through 13,675,000 to start this final table. The short stack is Jonathan Akiba, who bagged 2,475,000 for the restart tomorrow. Although, Akiba is not alone at the bottom of the chip counts as this fast-paced structure ensured both Jose Brito and Andy Black are coming in with below 15 big blind stacks.
Of the finalists, Black and Daniel Lowery have the most decorated line of success throughout their poker careers, however of the remaining nine players, a win tomorrow would secure a career-first WSOP gold bracelet for all of them.
The action will resume at 2:00 p.m. local time on June 30 at the Horseshoe Feature tables. Play will resume with Level 33 at blinds of 150,000/300,000 with 600,000 big blind ante. They will play through 20 minutes levels until a winner is decided.

Daniel Lowery opened to 600,000 and then Nikolay Ponomarev moved all in to his left. Lowery quickly made the call and the cards were tabled with Ponomarev at risk.
Nikolay Ponomarev: 8♠8♦
Daniel Lowery: A♣Q♠
"The ace always comes in the window," Someone on Lowery's rail said, and sure enough, the ace came right on the flop of A♠3♠J♥ for Lowery to take the lead.
The K♠ came on the turn and didn't change anything.
"Ten on the river for good measure!" The same railbird shouted, and crazily enough, the 10♣ smacked on the river to give Lowery a straight.
"That's why we keep her around!" Lowery laughed as he scooped in the pot while Ponomarev was sent to the rail in 12th place.
