Gannon Catches Two for the Save

Nível 3 : Blinds 200/300, 500 ante

After Christopher Chung had drawn one from early position, Liam Gannon had drawn two from the small blind, and the big blind had taken one, Chung bet 4,500. It was enough to put Gannon all in and he called, with the big blind folding.

Gannon revealed 10x9x8x5x4x and Chung double-checked his cards, and then folded. "Much better than me," he conceded.

"I hit both the ten and the nine," Gannon marveled.

"Well now we're even," said Chung. "You doubled me up, now I double you up."

Vonk Chips Up

Nível 3 : Blinds 200/300, 500 ante

Marcel Vonk opened to 800 from under the gun and received a single caller on the button.

Vonk patted while his opponent took one after which Vonk checked. The button checked back but mucked once Vonk tabled 10x9x8x6x2x to send some more chips the Dutchman's way.

Cunningham Loses Staring Contest, Vohra Prepares to Launch

Nível 3 : Blinds 200/300, 500 ante

Landen Lucas raised to 900 from under the gun, and small blind Matt Waxman, and big blind Allen Cunningham called.

Cunningham drew two with Waxman and Lucas each drawing one. It was checked to Lucas, who bet 1,200. Waxman folded and then Cunningham, winner of the 2002 $5,000 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw bracelet, began staring down Lucas, the 10th place finisher in last year's event. Eventually, Cunningham conceded the hand.

While the hand happening, Raj Vohra approached the rail and began a conversation with Waxman. "What is this game?"

"No-limit deuce to seven," answered Waxman. "It's like hold-'em, except there's no flop, it's draw, and you play for low."

"No limit? So all you have to do is bluff and raise, and everyone folds? Is this why everyone folded? That's it. I'm buying in. I'm sitting at your table, and I'm going to win this thing."

"Make sure they give you Table 100," replied Waxman.

Savakinas Outdrawn

Nível 3 : Blinds 200/300, 500 ante

Michael Savakinas opened to 1,100 from early position and was called by a player in the small blind.

The small blind took two while Savakinas stood pat. Both players then checked with the small blind turning over 9x7x5x3x2x to best whatever pat hand Savakinas had started with. Although he was outdrawn, Savakinas probably will not feel too sore coming off his first bracelet win in Event #51: $1,000 Tag Team.

Tough Start for Gannon

Nível 3 : Blinds 200/300, 500 ante
Liam Gannon
Liam Gannon

Liam Gannon had just registered and was playing one of his first, if not the first, hands of the tournament. A player opened to 800 from early position and was called by Gannon in middle position as well as a player in the cutoff. Christopher Chung then moved all in for 18,200 out of the small blind, getting a quick fold from the original raiser. Gannon, meanwhile, re-jammed his stack while the cutoff got out of the way.

Chung took one and then tabled 8x6x4x2x after Gannon stood pat with 10x8x7x4x2x. Needing to hit a three, five, seven, nine or ten to win, Chung was able to do just that after peeling the 9x to secure a full double and leave an unfortunate Gannon short.

"There's No Remorse": Poker Community Unsatisfied As Imsirovic Breaks Silence

Nível 3 : Blinds 200/300, 500 ante
Ali Imsirovic
Ali Imsirovic

Many were shocked this week when Ali Imsirovic broke his silence this week more than a year after being accused of cheating by other high-stakes poker pros.

But few were satisfied with the answers provided by the 2021 GPI Player of the Year, who admitted to multi-accounting for several months in 2020, and again in 2022, while dismissing other allegations as "ridiculous," including that he's used real-time assistance (RTA) and recently been running an online cheating ring.

The poker community's reactions to Imsirovic's video make up the latest edition of The Muck.
