Day 2 of Event #57: $25,000 High Roller Pot-Limit Omaha at the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas ended registration with 449 entries and a total Prize pool of $10,551,500 making this the largest WSOP pot-limit omaha event in history.

After 10 levels of play, 31 players remained. Chance Kornuth appeared to bag the chip lead with 7,245,000. Others to bag big stacks were Dylan Weisman (4,355,000), Day 1 chip leader Firas Kashat (4,185,000), and 2023 bracelet winner Isaac Haxton (4,320,000).

Also making it through on Day 2 were multiple players that have already won a bracelet this year, including Jeremy Ausmus (2,290,000), Yuri Dzivielevski (1,065,000), Ben Lamb (1,795,000), and Chad Eveslage (1,230,000).

Despite all the stars and accomplishments named above it would be hard to ignore Kornuth’s 2023 summer so far. Two high roller final tables, an online bracelet final table, and a win at the Wynn Mystery Bounty just a few days ago. He will ride into Day 3 in one of the biggest spots of his career as he and the other remaining players chase the coveted gold bracelet and staggering $2,294,756 top prize.

Unfortunately, not everyone was so fortunate as Kornuth. Among those to bust on Day 2 before the money were Stephen Chidwick, Shaun Deeb, Nacho Barbero, Erik Seidel, and Nick Schulman.

Day 3 of Event #57: $25,000 High Roller Pot-Limit Omaha will kick off at 1 p.m. on June 27. The day will start on Level 21 with blinds at 25,000/50,000/50,000 and will play down to the final five players that will compete for bracelet glory on Day 4.

During the final hands of the night, Bradley Kil attempted to knock out Isaac Haxton when they got it in after the AJ22 turn with Haxton at risk for1,105,000.

Isaac Haxton: AK1010
Bradley Kil: J1097

The 3 river brought no upset and Haxton doubled. Kil still had around 1.2 million chips behind after that setback but didn't bag up chips, as Haxton knocked him out in the final hand of the night,

"That's why I called wide, too. I knew he was going to get it in," Jeremy Ausmus told Haxton when they bagged up the chips.

Quadruple Up for Katz; Seat Open for Boulden and Double for Lau

Nível 20 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Matthew Boulden
Matthew Boulden

During the final hands of the night, the action exploded and several all-in showdowns took place in quick succession.

Cary Katz had been all-in preflop after a raise by Firas Kashat and two calls. He was looked up three ways and it checked to the J767J river. Yuri Dzivielevski bet 125,000 and his two active opponents folded.

The Brazilian only briefly flashed his cards but Katz quadrupled with the J1085.

On the same table, Matthew Boulden was then all-in after a K63 flop against Mads Amot.

Matthew Boulden: AK96
Mads Amot: Q654

Amot had a wrap and got there instantly with the 7 turn, the 3 river sent Boulden to the payout desk with the words "at least I don't have to come back tomorrow".

Ka Kwan Lau then got it in for 1,505,000 post flop against Ben Lamb with the flop showing Q63.

Ka Kwan Lau:AKKJ
Ben Lamb: KQ103

Lamb was ahead with the top and bottom pair and that remained to be the case on the 7 turn. However, the 6 river counterfeited Lamb's two pair and he vaulted out of the chair in disgust.

Roiter Eliminated by Kashat

Nível 20 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Firas Kashat
Firas Kashat

In four-way action to the AK4 flop, Cary Katz checked out of the blinds and Firas Kashat bet 460,000. Klemens Roiter then jammed for 705,000 in the cutoff and Matthew Boulden called on the button. Katz folded and Kashat came along.

The 4 turn was checked through and the 9 river completed the board. Kashat moved all-in and Boulden snap-folded, exposing only the K face-up.

Roiter exposed his QQJ10 for a full wrap and flush draw that had missed, while Kashat scored the knockout with the K432 for a full house, fours full of kings.

Liberta Doubles Up

Nível 20 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

After a brief pre-flop betting war, Joseph Liberta and Ben Lamb get it all in the middle, with Liberta at risk.

Joseph Liberta: AAJ3
Ben Lamb: KK54

Liberta was in a great position to double up in this spot, and the runout of QJA9Q did just that as he made aces full on the river to scoop the pot.
