Cary Katz

Omaha Hi Lo

There was an open under the gun by Cary Katz to 20,000. John Monnette called in middle position and Jacky Wang called on the button.

The flop came J88 and action checked to Wang on the button who bet. Both players called.

The A turn landed and Katz checked to Monnette who bet 20,000. Wang called and Katz called again.

The 4 river hit the felt. Katz checked, Monnette bet, Wang folded, Katz called and the cards hit their back.

Monnette showed AJ82 for a full house and no low. Katz tabled A932 for the nut low and an inferior high. They would chop up Wang's chips.

Christopher Vitch: XxXx/610K5/Xx - folded seventh street

Action was picked up on seventh street with approximately 170,000 in the pot and a bet in front of Andrew Brown, who held the betting lead with a pair of open threes.

Christopher Vitch was short-stacked but couldn't call the bet, and after a couple of minutes of thought, neither could Benny Glaser, who reluctantly folded his hand.

Brown dragged the pot and showed 85, saying that he has started the hand with that, along with his 9 in the door.

Meanwhile, at an adjacent table, Alex Livingston was eliminated.

Yu Makes "Best Call of the Summer" Against Hellmuth

Nível 9
Ben Yu
Ben Yu

No-Limit Hold 'em

Picking action up on the flop with the board reading 423, Phil Hellmuth checked in the big blind to Ben Yu on the button who bet 7,000.

Hellmuth snap check-raised to 28,000, which gave Yu some pause, but he made the call.

The players checked the J turn, but on the K river, Hellmuth bet 62,000.

Yu thought for over a minute before making the call to which Hellmuth replied, "nice call."

It indeed was a nice call, as after Hellmuth revealed his 95 for a missed straight draw, Yu showed A7 for ace-high, which was good.

"That's the best call anyone's made against me all summer," complimented Hellmuth.

After the hand, Hellmuth's table was broken, leading Hellmuth to further say, "you can't break the table when he's calling me with ace-high. I just need a couple more hours with him."

Ray Dehkarghani
Ray Dehkarghani

No-Limit Hold'em

On a three-way turn of 10884, Ray Dehkharghani bet 34,000 out of the small blind. Hal Rotholz raised to 75,000 and Cary Katz folded from under the gun.

"How much do you have behind?" Dehkharghani inquired as he leaned to the side and peeked at the stack of Rotholz on the other side of the dealer and table without vaulting out of his chair. Dehkharghani then called and both players checked the 7 on the river.

Dehkharghani tabled his K10 and Rotholz mucked the Q10 for the slightly inferior kicker.
