David Williams

No Limit 2-7 Single Draw

Action folded to David Williams in middle position who opened to 10,000. Day one chip leader, Josh Arieh, called in late position. Each player opted to draw one and Williams checked. Arieh didn't waste much time before betting out for 20,000.

Williams went into the tank for a moment but eventually tossed his calling chips across to Arieh as if to say, take these and show me a winner.

Arieh rolled over 8x7x5x3x3x and Williams said "I knew it! That's why I called!" and tabled Jx8x6x3x2x.

Williams made a great call and got some of the chip leaders fortune in the process.

Dan Terminator Cates

Pot Limit Omaha

Action folded to Bryce Yockey in the cutoff who limped for 3,000. Dan 'Jungleman' Cates called on the button, Chris Moneymaker called in the small blind, and Brian Yoon called in the big blind. The players were off to a flop four-ways.

The 106A flop hit the felt and action checked to Yockey who bet 7,500. Jungleman called on the button and the blinds folded. Heads up to a K turn, Yockey slowed down and checked. Cates pounced and put out a bet of 25,000. The price would only stay at a quarter for a moment when Yockey put in the quick check-raise to 105,000. Cates thought it over for a moment and called.

The 5 landed on the river and Yockey didn't think for long before putting out 100,000. Cates snap called.

Yockey said "straight", and briefly tabled QxJxXxXx but mucked it quickly when Cates rolled over 101098 for a flopped middle set and rivered flush.

Cates scooped a big pot to keep him in contention on day two of the Poker Players Championship.
