Martirosian Rivers a Pair

Nível 15 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Martin Kabrhel raised to 300,000 on the button and Artur Martirosian defended from the big blind. The flop came 1053 and Martirosian checked to Kabrhel who bet 325,000. Martirosian check-raised to 800,000 and Kabrhel called.

The turn brought the Q and both players checked to the 7 on the river. Two more checks and Martirosian turned over 97 for a rivered pair, which was good enough to win the pot.

"Unbelievable," Kabrhel started. "Such a small buy-in and everyone plays irresponsible. Do you have the balls to do that, Koray?"

The 2023 World Series of Poker is soon to enter its fourth week of festivities, and the contest for WSOP Player of the Year is starting to heat up.

Chad Eveslage was the early frontrunner because of his back-to-back bracelet victories. However, Ian Matakis and Shaun Deeb have surpassed the only double bracelet winner of the series, thanks to a recent run of fine results.

Michael Moncek has also shot up from sixth to fourth in the POY standings after he came close to grabbing his second bracelet of the series in the $10,000 Razz Championship.

[Removed:564] rounds out the top five following his sun run in some of the high roller bracelet events. The Dutch poker pro finished in third place in the $50,000 High Roller days before taking down the $100,000 High Roller for $2,576,729, the biggest payout of the 2023 WSOP so far.

Steven Doubles Through Aldemir

Nível 15 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

The action folded to Brandon Steven in the cutoff who shipped all in for his last 840,000. Koray Aldemir confirmed the count from the big blind and then dropped in some chips to call.

Brandon Steven: 99
Koray Aldemir: 22

The flop came 1054 and Aldemir had some backdoor outs working for him. The A on the turn made things sweaty but the 9 on the river ensured Steven of a double-up.

"Just like last year. You and me final table," Martin Kabrhel said to Steven which only prompted a nod from the one who just doubled.

Artur Martirosian: JJ

The flop fell 1093 and Martirosian was still out front with his pair of jacks. However, the A peeled off on the turn and Ivey took a commanding lead. The 10 completed the board and Ivey remained stoic as he earned a double-up to stay alive.

Jonathan Jaffe
Jonathan Jaffe

Jonathan Jaffe moved all in from middle position for his remaining 1,330,000 and was called by Ben Heath in late position.

However, Chance Kornuth would go into the tank on the button, using one of his remaining time banks before announcing a raise to 3,100,000. Heath folded and the cards were on their backs.

Jonathan Jaffe: AK
Chance Kornuth: KK

Jaffe would need to spike an ace or some broadway straight cards in order to improve, but Kornuth would get a clean runout in the form of a Q7592 final board to send Jaffe to the rail.
