Vedral Takes Chip Lead

Nível 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

On a huge heads-up flop of QA10, Samy Dighlawi had made it 1,600,000 to go and then David Vedral moved all in, covering him.

Dighlawi went deep into the tank to consider his options concerning his tournament life, and after a while, he shrugged as if to say "screw it", and set his chips into the middle.

Samy Dighlawi: A9
David Vedral: KJ

"Ughh, nice hand," Dighlawi told Vedral when he realized he was up against the stone nuts and he was only drawing to a possible chop or runner-runner full house.

The board completed with th 68 to seal Dighwali's fate, eliminating him from the tournament while Vedral was pushed the monster pot to rocket him into the chip lead with almost 9,000,000.

Ghaneian, Bennett Show Friendly Side of Poker

Nível 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Arash Ghaneian

Poker is a competitive game, but it can also bring about friendly competition.

WSOP bracelet winner Arash Ghaneian and Steven Bennett provided proof of the latter scenario during a hand.

Ghaneian raised preflop in late position, and Bennett called in the small blind. The two men looked at each other and chuckled.

The dealer fanned 4A9 on the board. Bennett checked, and Ghaneian followed with his own check.

“No way!” Bennett said after Ghaneian acted.

The 8 showed up on the turn, and Bennett once again checked. This time, though, Ghaneian bet 175,000 and Bennett folded, showing 64 face up.

Ghaneian then showed Bennett what he had before tabling A8 for the rest of the table.

“Sneaky!” Bennett exclaimed, which got a laugh out of Ghaneian.

Tweedlie Takes Out Bordet

Nível 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Michael Tweedlie made it 155,000 from the cutoff and was met with a shove from Florian Bordet in the small blind for 525,000. Rafi Elharar folded in the big blind and Tweedlie snap called.

Florian Bordet: A5
Michael Tweedlie: AA

It was terrible timing for Bordet to run into Tweedlie's pocket aces. The flop of 874 gave the Frenchman a gutshot, but the 108 were bricks and Bordet exited to receive their prize money.

Hancock Responds to Aggression

Nível 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

What comes around will sometimes go around, especially at a poker table.

Tyler Hancock was in early position and elected to call 80,000 preflop. The button, though, raised to 160,000 in an act of aggression. Hancock called to bring the flop, which showed 53A.

Hancock checked, and the player on the button bet 110,000. Hancock immediately check-raised to 250,000 in a sign of more aggression.

The player on the button immediately mucked his hand and Hancock emerged the winner in the skirmish.
