Haim Gets Much-Needed Double Up

The blinds and antes are taking a toll on short stacks, and players on the short stack are picking spots to go all in with hopes of doubling up.

Count Allyson Haim among the group, and she moved all in for final 141,000 in late position. Haim, though, didn’t look comfortable in her chair when the player on the cutoff asked for a count, and then made the call. The remaining players got out of the way and the cards were tabled.

Eng Gets A Triple-Up

Matthew Eng ripped it from early position for 93,000 and was called for less by the cutoff for 91,000. The big blind went into the tank but eventually found the call.

The cutoff was ahead but Eng picked up a flush draw on the A♠J♥6♥ flop. The 10♦ didn't change much, but despite the cutoff and big blind holding a heart blocker between them, the 2♥ landed on the river to give Eng a much-needed triple-up and sent the cutoff to the pay line.

Griffis Turns on the Heat

A player in late position raised 24,000 before the flop, and Glyn Griffis flatted on the button. The small blind also came in for three-way action.

The dealer fanned 5♣3♦4♠ on the board, and the small blind checked. The original raiser bet 31,000, which Griffis called and the small blind folded.

The turn showed 9♣ and the action continued, as Griffis opponent fired 75,000, which once again drew a call.

Griffis’ opponent slowed down on the river, which produced J♦, and checked. Griffis, though, put maximum pressure on his opponent by going all in against a player who had him covered. But the all-in bet made Griffis’ opponent uncomfortable.

Griffis didn’t move at his seat, but the same can’t be said about his opponent, who put his hands on his head and went in the tank for more than a minute. The original raiser looked at his hand multiple times, then looked at the board a few times before eventually folding his hand.

Pitcher Steals One from Ogwo

Michael Pitcher opened to 24,000 from the cutoff and Praise Ogwo defended from the big blind.

The flop came out 2♠5♠5♣ and both players checked to see the J♥ appear on the turn.

Ogwo checked over to Pitcher who then bet 40,000 and Ogwo called to see the 3♣ land on the river. Ogwo checked once more and Pitcher fired again for 80,000 to which Ogwow promptly folded.
