Ausmus Catches Bluff

Five-time WSOP bracelet winner Jeremy Ausmus and Sergio Aido were involved in a postflop hand, which had the pot at approximately 61,000.

On a board of 410J, Ausmus checked his option in the big blind and Aido, who was in late position, made a bet and Ausmus called.

The turn revealed 3, which Ausmus once again checked. Aido bet 90,000, which drew a call from Ausmus.

The river produced 2 and Ausmus checked. Aido didn’t slow down and bet 225,000. Ausmus took a few seconds but made the call.

Aido tabled KQ for a king-high hand and busted straight draw, while Ausmus showed QJ for a pair of jacks and the win.

Aleksejs Ponakovs raised it up from the cutoff and Henrik Hecklen defended from the big blind. The flop came 974 and Hecklen check-called a bet of 37,000 from Ponakovs.

The 5 peeled off on the turn and Hecklen led out with a bet of 30,000 this time. Ponakovs called and the Q landed on the river. Hecklen reached back for a bet of 250,000 this time and Ponakovs quickly mucked his cards.

Palihapitiya Doubles Up

It didn’t take long for action heat up right after the break.

Two-time WSOP bracelet winner David Peters raised in early position and was greeted by Chamath Palihapitiya’s all-in bet in late position.

Peters, who had Palihapitiya covered, called after action folded back to him.

The board ran out 72884 to give Palihapitiya a much-needed double up.

Players enter Level 7 when they return, and blinds will be 5,000-10,000 with a 10,000 ante.

Davies Scoops a Three-Way Pot

Alex Foxen raised to 18,000 in the hijack and was called by Justin Bonomo in the cutoff and Seth Davies in the big blind. The flop came J53 and the action checked to Bonomo who bet 17,000. Both Davies and Foxen called.

The turn was the J and the action checked to the 10 on the river. With four hearts on the board, all three players checked again and Davies tabled 64. Both Foxen and Bonomo sent their cards to the muck and Davies collected the pot.

Kornuth Hits Two Pair After Defending Big Blind

Artur Martirosian raised 18,000 in early position, but met resistance when Brian Kim called in the small blind and three-time WSOP bracelet winner Chance Kornuth followed suit in the big blind.

The dealer placed 10K8 on the board, which Kim and Kornuth called. Martirosian bet 40,000, which saw Kim fold and Kornuth call.

The action went to the turn, where 3 showed up. Kornuth checked, prompting Martirosian to bet 100,000. Karnuth looked across the table at his opponent, and then called.

The river saw 5 on the board, which both players checked. Kornuth tabled 108 for a flopped bottom two pair, which won the pot after Martirosian mucked his hand.

Koon Escapes with a Double

Sam Soverel raised to 17,000 in early position and Zachary Schwartz called on the button. Jason Koon pushed out a raise to 85,000 in the big blind, leaving just 1,000 behind. Soverel got out of the way but Schwartz elected to call.

The flop came J98 and the two players stuck in the rest of the chips and tabled their hands. Schwartz was out front with KJ but Koon had outs with A10. The Q on the turn gave Koon a straight and held on through the 5 on the river in order to double up.

Elias Runs Into a Set

Ren Lin and Darren Elias were heads-up in a pot with around 60,000 in the middle. The board read AQ43 and Elias bet 25,000 on the button. Lin check-raised all in from the hijack and Elias quickly stuck in the last of his 150,000 chips.

Elias flopped two pair but ran into a set of fours from Lin. The 3 paired the board on the river but it was not the right pair for Elias who was sent to the rail.
