Chang Survives Clash with Brenes

Humberto Brenes raised from early position and it folded round to Yu-Chung "Nevan" Chang, who went all in from the small blind. Brenes obliged with a call, putting Chang at risk.

With both suits covered Chang just needed to fade a nine — but he went one better and flopped a Jack with the board running out 4J853, giving Chang a welcome double-up.

The player under the gun raised to 1,000, Jeff Madsen in middle position called and the player on the button reraised to 2,500. The under-the-gun player called and Madsen had the time clock called on him as he contemplated his decision. Madsen then reraised for all of his chips, around 24,000.

The button called and the under-the-gun player folded.

Powrie Powers Up

Scott Powrie raised from under the gun and was called by both the small blind and Ashley Frank in the big.

A flop of Q8J was checked around and the turn came the 6. Powrie bet out and both opponents called.

Powrie bet again on a K river. The small blind called and Frank folded.

Powrie tabled A10 having made top straight and the small blind showed 109 for the lower end.

Daniels Jumps into Mix Instantly with Straight Flush

The players relayed an exciting hand that occurred.

Jake Daniels raised in the cutoff position and the player on the button called.

The flop came out 768 and Daniels bet 800 and the button called.

The turn showed the 5 and Daniels bet 1,000, the button reraised to 2,800 and Daniels then made it 6,300. The button thought for awhile and folded face up 8x8x for the set. Daniels turned over 95 for the straight flush and was off to a good start.
