Julien Martini raised and called a three-bet by James Obst in the small blind, who then bet each street of the 10♣8♠6♥7♥6♦ board. Martini called the first two bets rather swiftly before tank-calling the final bet for the last of his chips.
Obst tabled the A♦10♦9♠2♦ for tens up and the nut low, which beat the A♣Q♣J♦3♦ of Martini.
A large heads-up pot was played between Christopher Stephan and Jason Daly when PokerNews caught up to the action. Stephan tabled A♠K♠5♦2♣ on a final board of 6♠Q♣3♠A♥K♦ and Jason Daly studied his hand in frustration before mucking face down.
The pot would increase Stephan's chip count to over 400,000, elevating him to amongst the tournament chip leaders.
In one of the last hands before the break, Christopher Stephan bet the 10♦9♥3♥Q♠ out of the small blind. Ismael Bojang mulled it over for a while with just 10,000 behind and sigh-folded. Bojang chopped the next pot to add a few chips but bowed out soon after the action resumed in level 12.

Five-time bracelet winner and 1998 Main Event Champion Scotty Nguyen will miss the first half of the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) as the Vietnamese-American poker icon recovers from surgery.
Nguyen, always a fan-favorite of WSOP, took to Twitter earlier this week to announce he was undergoing surgery for slipping rib syndrome, a condition that can cause severe chest pain in addition to "a slipping, clicking, or popping sensation in the lower chest," according to an article published in Psychopharmacology Bulletin.
But it's not all over, baby. Nguyen tweeted today to let his fans know that the surgery was a success and that he hopes to recover in time for the second half of the WSOP.

“I want to let you guys know the surgery (recovery) is going so well," Nguyen said in a video. "Right now, on both sides (it) is sore and swollen and I have trouble to get in and out of bed. But I have my wife, Julie, she (is) right there to help me sitting up or standing up.”
“I love all of you, baby. See you in the second half at the World Series in Vegas.”
Only 96 players remain on the first scheduled 10-minute break of the day.
Three ways to the 9♥5♠3♣ flop, the action checked to Bart O'Connell on the button and he bet for Jason Berilgen and Alex Livingston to call. The 3♦ turn paired the board and Berilgen checked, Livingston bet and O'Connell instantly raised with just 6,000 behind.
Berilgen folded while Livingston called and then checked the 8♠ river. O'Connell moved all-in and Livingston groaned. "I paired my emergency card," he said and mulled it over, agonising the massive pot odds. Eventually, he folded and mentioned in table chat he had ace-ace-eight. "I guess I have to call?", he added.
Their table broke soon after as the field dropped below 100 hopefuls.
