Raskin Wins in Four-Bet Pot

Kevin Rachichow opened to 4,500 under the gun and Artur Martirosian three-bet to 15,000. Micah Raskin put in a four-bet to 37,000 forcing Rabichow out of the pot. Martirosian made the call.

Both players checked the monotone Q105 flop. Martirosian then called a 50,000 bet from Raskin on the 2 turn.

Raskin fired again on the 2 river, this time for 75,000. Martirosian used a single time extension chip to think about his decision before throwing his cards into the muck, awarding a nice pot to Raskin.

Set of Queens for Stamm

Picking up the action on a flop of 6Q10, Alex Foxen checked in the big blind before David Stamm bet 7,000 from middle position. Patrick Leonard called on the button and Foxen folded as he celebrated getting his first WSOP cash yesterday.

Stamm bet 16,000 on the A turn and Leonard again called. Stamm then checked as the 8 river put four spades on the board and Leonard checked back.

Stamm showed QQ for a set of queens and it was good to win the pot.

Smith Calls Jaffe's River Bet

Action was picked up on the river with the board showing A910AK and about 25,000 in the middle. Dan Smith was facing a bet of 8,000 from Jonathan Jaffe and after briefly considering his options decided to make the call.

Jaffe showed 86 for a missed straight draw and Smith showed K2 for two pair, Aces and Kings to take down the pot.

Chidwick Picks Off a Bluff; New Arrivals

Stephen Chidwick opened to 5,000 in early position and Seth Davies called in the small blind, while the big blind also called.

The flop of K56 checked through and Davies led out for 6,000 on the 3 turn. Only Chidwick called. The 8 completed the board and Davies fired for 24,000. Chidwick called.

Davies tabled A4 for just ace-high and Chidwick showed the winner with 86 for a rivered two pair.

As the hand played out, newcomers Artur Martirosian, Patrick Leonard, Kevin Rabichow, Frank Funaro, Brian Kim and reigning Main Event champion Espen Jorstad all took their seats.

Heath Wins an Early Pot from Peters

Ben Heath opened to 5,000 from under the gun and David Peters defended his big blind.

Action was heads up on the 434 flop. Peters check-called a 3,000 bet from Heath.

Action checked around on the 5 turn. When the river came the 7 Peters checked, and then folded to a 9,500 bet from Heath.

The 2023 World Series of Poker at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas continues with it’s fourth high roller tournament of the summer. Event #23: $50,000 High Roller No Limit Hold’em is set to begin at 12 p.m. and is certain to attract some of the greatest to have played the game.

Last year in this event Jake Schindler bested a field of 101 players, defeating Brek Schutten in heads-up play to win his first World Series of Poker gold bracelet and $1,328,068.

Players begin with 300,000 chips and blinds start at 1,000/2,000 with a 2,000 big blind ante. Levels increase every 60 minutes, one re-entry is allowed and late registration is open until the start of Day 2.

Day 1 is scheduled to play eight levels with a 15-minute break every two levels. Day 2 is scheduled to play ten levels and Day 3 will play down to a winner.
