Schulman Keeps Winning

Nível 13

Nick Schulman, fresh off victory in Event #9: $1,500 Stud, has gotten off to a good start in this tournament as well. A player opened on the button and Schulman three-bet out of the small blind. The button player made the call to send action to the first draw.

On the first draw Schulman took one card to his opponent's two and then was called after betting.

The second draw saw Schulman stand pat while the button player took two more. Schulman bet again and was met by a quick fold to keep the four time bracelet winner chipping up.

Zhong Doubles, Still Short

Nível 13

A player opened in middle position and everyone folded except Yufei Zhong, who was forced all in out of the big blind.

Both players took two cards on the first draw. The second draw saw Zhong only take one to his opponent's two. On the final draw Zhong drew one, tabling 542 while the middle position player also took one and showed 92A. "You show first" said Zhong and, obliging, the middle position player turned over 7 for the three-card seven, ensuring that Zhong's final card, the J, was of no consequence.

Eveslage Continues Hot Run

Nível 14

Of all the players who have flocked to this year's WSOP, none has gotten off to a better start than Chad Eveslage, who currently leads the POY race after taking down two bracelets in short order. His hot run of form seems to be continuing in this event as, over the course of the day, he has managed to amass one of the larger stacks in the room.

Eveslage opened on the button and was called by a player in the small blind. Both players drew one card after which the small blind checked and then called when Eveslage bet.

The second draw saw the same drawing pattern repeated and once more, the small blind check-called a bet from Eveslage.

On the final draw, the small blind took one more while Eveslage opted to stand pat. The small blind checked, Eveslage bet and was met by a fold to take down a sizable pot as the day enters its final hour of play.

With one draw left, Chris Clark in the cut-off, asked the table to pick one of two cards to swap, and the player on the button chose for him. Clark and Shaun Deeb, in the big blind, both drew one. Deeb bet and Clark called.

"Did he choose the right one?", asked Deeb. "No", came the reply.

"Good", said Deeb, and tabled 543A to take the pot

Zolotow Hanging Around

Nível 14

A player opened from under the gun and was called by Steve Zolotow in the big blind.

Zolotow took two cards on the initial draw while his opponent decided to draw one. Action then went check-bet-call to keep both players in the hand heading to the second draw.

The second draw saw Zolotow and his opponent each take one card with Zolotow checking for a second time and then once again calling after the under the gun player bet.

On the final draw, both players drew one more card before they checked to showdown. The under the gun player tabled 543A for the three card five and Zolotow, presumably with a worse three card hand, mucked. The old school pro is still hanging around, however, albeit with a less than average stack.
