Johnson Sends Berg to the Rail

Nível 21 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Action folded to Poker Hall of Fame member Linda Johnson in late position who came in for a raise. Only Lawrence Berg in the cutoff came along and the two saw a flop of 9105.

Johnson checked to Berg who quickly tossed in a bet that was called by Johnson, prompting the dealer to burn and turn the 8.

Johnson checked again to Berg who opted on another bet but this time, Johnson came back with a check-raise. Berg, acting quickly and decisively throughout the hand, tossed in the call to see the 10 river card.

Johnson eyed Berg's stack before she grabbed chips and tossed out a bet that would commit Berg's final chips.

Berg quickly called and watched as Johnson rolled over the AQJ9, good for the nut straight, prompting Berg to toss his cards toward the muck and exit the tournament area.

Simao had JA42, the button 39JA, and Obst A1082. The river came the 9 and Obst made a straight to win the entire pot, knocking out the Brazilian bracelet winner and the button.

Obst, Vitch Chop Up an Opponent

Nível 21 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Chris Vitch bet a flop of 5AQ as James Obst called from the cutoff, as did a player under the gun.

The turn came the 9 and Vitch bet again. Both opponents called to the 6 river, where action checked to Obst.

Obst put out a bet and the under-the-gun player quickly called. Vitch took his name before also calling.

Obst turned over 32JJ for the nut low, while Vitch had AA for top set to take the high.

"That's what I was afraid of," the defeated opponent said as he mucked.

Ryan Leng is also seated at this table.

With the board showing 31049, Drinan got his last chips in the middle as Baud called on the button.

Drinan had A4Q7 while Baud showed KK25. The river came the 9 and Baud's kings stayed in front as Drinan, the 2021 champion of this event, was sent to the rail.
