Dirksen Gets Much-Needed Pot

Nível 9

Dustin Dirksen, runner-up in the $10,000 championship edition of this event last year, was sitting on a short stack as he raised from the big blind after an opponent on the button limped in. The button called as they saw a flop of 26J.

Dirksen continued with a bet and the button called. Both players checked the 7 turn.

The river came the K and Dirksen led out again. The button gave the decision some thought before flinging in a call.

"Two pair," Dirksen announced, turning over A10K2 for kings and deuces as he took in the pot to climb back up near the starting stack.

Pescatori Preparing For Another Event

Nível 9

Max Pescatori bet on a flop of 8210 before a player in the hijack raised. Another opponent in the cutoff moved all in for less and Pescatori called.

The turn came the Q and Pescatori check-called a bet to build a side pot. Pescatori again check-called on the K turn.

His opponent turned over A1037, but Pescatori had 8236 for two pair as both players mucked, the cutoff heading for the rail.

"Badugi," Pescatori said. "I'm preparing for the Badugi tournament."

Mozdzen Makes Kings Work

Nível 9

On a board of J2Q9, the late position player checked to Clayton Mozdzen who threw out a bet. His opponent tossed in a call and they were off to the 10 river.

Both players opted to check through to showdown as Mozdzen turned over the KK84, which was good to take down the pot and chip up.

Buckner Getting a $1,500 Lesson

Nível 10

"I've never played this game before. This is my first time. What better way to learn than to pay $1,500," Steven Buckner said as he raised from the button.

A player in the big blind called as the saw a flop of 235. Buckner continued with a bet and the big blind called. The turn came the 3 and Buckner bet again.

The big blind called as the river came the 3. Buckner bet for a third time and his opponent stuck around.

Buckner opened up QA32 for a full house and the big blind had QQA6 for a low to chop the pot.

"Can you believe this shit? They're not teaching me," Buckner said following the hand.

"Not Much" is Plenty for Micon

Nível 10

On a board reading 3Q2A, Bryan Micon called a bet from his opponent to see the 9 hit the river.

Action checked through to showdown and Micon's opponent asked, "Got anything?"

Micon responded, "Not much" as he turned over the 101088. Not much was good enough to take the pot, though, as his opponent quickly sent his cards into the muck.

Nível 10

A few hands later, Campbell opened the betting from the cutoff on a flop of 10310 and Burton called on the button. The turn came the 4 and Campbell bet.

Burton called as the river came the K. Campbell checked this time, then called when Burton bet. Burton showed A23K for a flush and Campbell mucked.

Nível 10

On a board of 9K104, a player on the button bet and Justin Moeller called in middle position.

The river came the 7 and the button moved all in for their last chips. Moeller called with A8310 for a pair of tens and the button could only show ace-high before heading for the door.
