WSOP Bracelet

The World Series of Poker Main Event kicks off today, with Day 1a already underway, it's an exciting time to be in Las Vegas. Players will have another opportunity at a bracelet in this online event, the $500 No-Limit Hold'em Deepstack. This is the 7th instance of an online bracelet event this summer.

Play will start at 3:30 p.m local pacific time and will play all the way down to a winner. With two re-entries available on a $500 entry, there will be plenty of opportunity for players to put themselves in great positions to capture a WSOP bracelet. If $500 is too for some players to buy-in, many have taken advantage of satellites, that will be running right up until the start of the event.

There are 15-minute levels, with players starting their tournament on a 30,000 chip stack. Standard online tournament breaks, 55 minutes past the hour. There is also 4 hours (240 minutes) of late registration, where players can hop back in after busting in that time too, if they choose. Players will start with 1 minute 30 seconds on their time banks, with a time bank reset every 4 levels.

Probably Taiwan's most prolific player Pete Chen won a $400 version of this event at least year's Series, taking down $82,559 for his win. Players can expect a 1st place prize of over that amount, with the level of players entering this years WSOP and the small buy-in increase.

Hale Gets It In Good And Holds In Six-Way Pot

Brant Hale
Brant Hale

Blinds: 30/60

After a middle position open to 135 chips from ''des55'', ''TealElephant'', Brant "bwh_4" Hale and Wade "WillowG23" Griffith called one after another. Next to act on the button, ''Attrix'' then three-bet to 450 chips before ''bluefarm73'' flatted from the big blind. All four other players called and they were six-ways to a flop.

The flop came down {10-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and after the big blind checked, ''des55'' lead for 1,365 into the 2,730 pot. ''TealElephant'' called next to act and so did Brant "bwh_4" Hale, the button and the big blind.

Now only five-ways to the turn with the pot at 9,555, the {7-Clubs} fell. Action was checked to ''TealElephant' who bet pot, before Hale jammed all-in for 28,185 next to act. The button, big blind and original raiser folded and ''TealElephant" called all in for an extra 15,994 before cards were tabled.

''TealElephant'': {4-Clubs}{5-Clubs}
Brant "bwh_4" Hale: {8-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

Hale had the nut straight with a flush draw, whereas ''TealElephant'' had turned a worse straight but had a re-draw to a flush himself.

The river {2-Diamonds} secured to win for Hale and busted ''TealElephant'', before he decided to use his first re-buy option.

Forestieri Wheel To Double Through Vanier

Chris "Tuffa8181" Forestieri
Chris "Tuffa8181" Forestieri

Blinds: 200/400

After an open to 800 from Michael "VinnyV" Vanier in the hijack, Chris "Tuffa8181" Forestieri made the call on the button and the blinds got out the way.

{j-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop warranted a continuation bet from Vanier of 1,050. Forestieri made the call.

Action heated up on the {4-Diamonds} turn as once again Vanier bet 2,800. This time Forestieri raised the price of admission, making it 6,470, which was called to set up a river.

After a {q-Diamonds} completed the board, Vanier, out of position, put enough chips in to cover Forestieri and his last 11,531 chips. Forestieri wasted no time snapping him off and his {a-Hearts}{3-Hearts} straight, also known as the wheel, was well ahead of the {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} bluff from Vanier.

''GrnQn'' Setting The Standard

''GrnQn''
''GrnQn''

After a raise under-the-gun from ''crezident'', David "Homeslizzle" Eldridge made the call from middle position before ''GrnQn'' and Brian "Bwb517" Bumpas called from the next two positions to act. John "KokaKola" Hulett completed from the big blind after the small blind folded and they were five-ways to a flop.

The board came down {q-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and action checked around.

The {8-Diamonds} turn changed things as now Hulett, with his Albanian flag avatar moved all in from the big blind first to act, 9,350 into a pot of 5,700. After ''crezident'' folded, Eldridge called as did ''GrnQn'', before Bumpas let it go.

An {a-Diamonds} river made the two remaining players to act slow up, checking it down.

Hulett showed {5-Spades}{4-Diamonds} for a pair of fours, Eldrige showed {q-Spades}{9-Clubs} for a pair of queens and ''GrnQn'' showed {3-Spades}{3-Clubs} for a flopped set, which was good to scoop the 33,000 chip pot.

Benjamin "Vibrato" Craig
Benjamin "Vibrato" Craig

David "Dcookie16" Cook had opened to 1,600 from early position and got a call from the hijack big stack of Ben "DonAngelini" Mccoy. With action on Benjamin "Vibrato" Craig, he pumped up the aggression from the button to 5,760 chips. Just Mccoy called and they were heads-up.

{5-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Spades} was checked by both players.

On a turn of a {8-Hearts}, Mccoy bet 3,820 into the 15,040 pot, which got a call from Craig.

The {9-Spades} brought the essential jam from Mccoy, betting 22,680 with Craig having 22,748 in his stack which he clicked in to the pot to officially be all in, to which Mccoy called.

Mccoy had {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for queen high versus the {a-Spades}{a-Hearts} nut flush of Craig.

Chip Leader Continues to Run Hot

1833ratecut
1833ratecut

Blinds 1,000/2,000

After action folded to ''1833ratecut'' in the cutoff, they put out a bet of 5,300 which was faced by an all in jam from Brett "herrrooooo" Reiss of 39,500 chips. Action folded back to ''1833ratecut'' who surprisingly decided on a call with just {q-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} when his cards were flipped. It was in bad shape against the {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts} of Reiss.

However, the board ran out {q-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Clubs}{a-Spades}{4-Hearts} to give ''1833ratecut'' a full house and busting Reiss.

Huge Cold Deck Favors ''Turkish'' Over Enger

''Turkish''
''Turkish''

Blinds 1,700/3,400

After Jason "jayriv" Rivkin opened from the hijack to 7,150 chips, action folded to the button, Joe "Jenger420" Enger, who raised to 22,450. Just behind him in the small blind was ''Turkish'', who then moved all in for 113,500 chips. Rivkin let his holding go and Enger called the all in.

Turkish: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}
Joe "Jenger420" Enger: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

It was an unavoidable cooler spot and on the {q-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{2-Spades}{j-Spades}{6-Spades} run out, the aces held and improved to a flush to double ''Turkish'' up.

Is It a Bird? Is It a Plane? Is it an Ex-Packers Quarterback Legend? No, It's POY Leader Dan Zack!

Daniel "Brett_Favre" Zack
Daniel "Brett_Favre" Zack

Blinds: 2,000/4,000

A huge boost for the 2022 World Series of Poker player of the year came, as Dan "Brett_Favre" Zack has taken out an opponent and gave himself a great chance of adding more Player of the Year (POY) points to his already healthy lead.

After James "pipedream16" Romero opened to 8,000 from the button, Zack piled his stack back towards Romero, who called all in for his last 61,000 chips.

When the board ran out {9-Spades}{7-Spades}{j-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}, it was Zack's {k-Clubs}{10-Hearts} that trumped the {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts} of Romero, busting him before the money. You could say his pipe dream of a bracelet is over, for now.
