Lambros Gets Marx to Lay Down Aces

Nível 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Action was picked up on a flop of {5-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{4-Clubs} with about 5,000 in the pot. Chris Lambros led out for 4,000 from the hijack, getting a call from Steven Marx just to his left.

On the {6-Diamonds} turn, Lambros fired for another 10,000. This sent Marx into the tank, before he eventually deciding to fold, doing so face up to reveal {a-}{a-}. Marx let out an "Oh no!" as Lambros showed his hand of {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}.

"I represented a straight," Lambros said, rationalizing Marx's laydown for him.

"I thought you had a set," Marx explained. Another player across the table agreed, and said that he knew Marx had aces. "I thought it was pretty clear what I had, so I thought [he had me beat]." Marx continued.

Campbell Likes the Turn

Nível 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Three players were in a hand as the board read {q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{3-Clubs} on the river. From the small blind, Ambroze Campbell led for 7,000 into a pot of about 15,500. The hijack folded quickly and it was on Vasileios Panagiotidis on the button who considered it for a bit before he called.

Campbell showed the {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} for the turned set. "You liked the turn, huh?" said Panagiotidis, who, despite losing this pot, appears to have chipped up nicely in the first level of the day to more than double starting stack.

Rabichow Keeps Winning at Tough Table

Nível 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Kevin Rabichow, Lee Markholt, and Matt Glantz have a combined $14 million in live tournament earnings and 131 WSOP cashes as they find themselves sitting at the same table here on Day 1b.

It would be Rabichow who would emerge from a recent pot that also involved Glantz. Rabichow raised to 500 as Glantz and the big blind came along.

All three players checked the {6-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop before Rabichow continued for 1,100 on the {a-Clubs} turn. Both opponents called as the river came the {j-Diamonds}.

Rabichow threw out another bet of 3,200 and Glantz quickly folded, as did the big blind.

Lome Takes a Pot

Nível 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

On the turn of a {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{k-Hearts} board, a player in middle position had 11,200 committed to the pot, Marc Lome had 11,200 committed to the pot, and a player in the small blind mulled it over before folding. The {2-Hearts} river was checked by both players.

Dodd's Turn Raise Wins the Pot

Nível 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

From the cutoff, Chad Eveslage, who won Event #8: $25,000 No Limit Hold'em - High Roller 8-Handed earlier in the series, opened to 500. The button, small blind, and Corey Dodd from the big blind all called.

The flop came {q-Hearts}{6-Spades}{2-Clubs} and Eveslage continued for 700. The button and Dodd both called.

On the {4-Spades} turn, it checked around to the button who made it 1,500. Dodd raised to 6,100 and both Eveslage and the button folded.

Kniep Navigates Five-Way Pot

Nível 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Picking up the action after the flop, Andreas Kniep in the big blind was involved in a hand with the small blind, an early position player, the cutoff and the button. With the board reading {7-Hearts}{q-Spades}{6-Diamonds} all five players checked to see the {3-Spades} turn. The small blind led out for 1,100 and received calls from Kniep and the cutoff to send three players to the river.

The {5-Diamonds} river put four to a straight on the board and the small blind slowed down, checking to Kniep who promptly led out for 4,100. That was met by a quick fold from the cutoff and the small blind followed suit, tossing {3-}{3-} face up into the muck. Kniep has gotten off to a red-hot start, pushing his stack north of the 100,000 mark within the first level of play.

Clark Slow Plays a Full House

Nível 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Sylvain Loosli, a 2013 November Niner, bet 500 on a flop of {7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{k-Hearts} as David Clark called in the big blind.

The turn came the {a-Diamonds} and Clark checked over to the French pro again, who this time bet 2,500. Clark called once more as the {7-Clubs} fell on the river.

Clark checked for the third time before Loosli tapped a chip on the table. Clark turned over {a-Hearts}{7-Spades} for a runner-runner full house and Loosli mucked.

"Well played, sir. There are worse runouts," a tablemate told Clark after the hand.
