Leonard Chipping Away

Patrick Leonard

After Patrick Leonard (or as many know him online: pads1161) called a preflop raise from under-the-gun, with Leonard sat in the big blind, he checked over to the aggressor on a {9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} board.

The flop was checked back and Leonard lead for 25,000 on the {8-Clubs} turn, to which he got a call.

A {9-Clubs} river, didn't slow Leonard down, as he let 55,000 and his opponent smiled as they let the hand go.

Hwang Takes Down a Pot

Nível 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

In a pot of roughly 70,000 on a flop of {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{5-Clubs}, Jisup Hwang check-called a bet of 36,000 from Alexander Zaverukha in the cutoff.

The turn came the {5-Hearts} and both players checked. The {3-Spades} completed the board and Hwang took the lead betting 125,000. Zaverukha put some thought in but eventually folded, sending the pot to Hwang. Cheers could be heard from the rail of Hwang from a friend showing support as he stacked his chips.

Huge Pot Moves Amini Back Up

Nível 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Travis Pearson
Travis Pearson

After Amir Amini had dropped a little to around 1,500,000 from his peak of 2,200,000, he got right back up the leaderboard from a duel against Travis Pearson.

On a flop of {q-Hearts}{k-Spades}{3-Hearts}, Pearson had made it 60,000 from the button and Amini made it 191,000. They quickly got the rest of Pearson's chips in, totally around 900,000.

Pearson's cards weren't seen by PokerNews, but the table assured the reporter that Pearson had the nut flush draw.

It didn't go well for Pearson though, as Amini tabled {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{4-Hearts} and the turn brought the {q-Clubs} giving Amini quads. The insignificant {4-Diamonds} came in on the river and busted Pearson.

In the next hand, it folded to Amini in the small blind. Whilst he was still gathering and setting down chips, the big blind Jay Harwood convinced him to limp call without looking, which he obliged. Harwood then potted it and Amini called.

The flop {q-Clubs}{6-Spades}{4-Diamonds} drew a continuation bet from Harwood of 60,000, which Amini had check-called.

On a {7-Spades} turn, the action went check-check bringing in a {3-Clubs} river. Amini then lead for 205,000 and after Harwood went into the tank for a minute or two, let his hand go to award another pot to Amini.

Scully Calls For Wrong Card

Nível 19 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

The PokerNews team was called over to a table to report on a hand after the fact. Under the gun opened the action to 30,000, the cutoff three-bet to 100,000 and it folded to Ryan Scully in the big blind who moved all in for 264,000 total. The initial raiser folded and the cutoff made the call.

Ryan Scully: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{k-Spades}{10-Spades}
Opponent: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

Scully was in great shape preflop but needed to dodge his opponents cards. The flop came {k-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades}, giving the cutoff top-set and crushing Scully's chances in the hand. The turn was the {10-Diamonds} which again was no help to Scully.

"Give me a queen!", shouted Scully, as he thought he had a broadway draw, but in fact didn't.

The river came the {a-Diamonds} and the table erupted as Scully hit the ace he needed, despite cheering for a queen. Scully laughed as he stacked his chips and told PokerNews he's had quite a few Corona's today.

Tuominen Wins Massive Cooler

Nível 19 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

The action was relayed by the table after the hand. Eemil Tuominen moved all in for roughly 600,000 on a board showing {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}{2-Spades}{6-Hearts} and was snap-called by Enrico Rudelitz, who just barely covered Tuominen's stack.

Eemil Tuominen: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}{9-Spades}{2-Hearts}
Enrico Rudelitz: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{5-Clubs}

It was the ultimate cooler situation for Tuominen as he flopped a set of kings but was up against a set of aces. When the river came the {8-Hearts} the table was stunned when they realized Tuominen made a flush to devastate Rudelitz, leaving him very short. Rudelitz was eliminated on the next hand when his straight draw could not improve against the set of his opponent.
