Crooks And Neff on Top - Three Former Champions Seeking For A Second WSOP Gold Bracelet

Peter Neff
Peter Neff

Today, 14 players are back to try to win the ultimate grail: the WSOP gold bracelet in Event #58: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better at the 2022 World Series of Poker. All these players are guaranteed to win at least $12,458, but all eyes will be on the first-place prize of $289,610 to the champion.

Richard Crooks has been dominating this tournament, bagging second in chips on Day 2 and is the chip lead after Day 2. Peter Neff was following him closely on day 1, and is still right behind him. While the story of the tournament seems to be about Crooks and Neff, bracelet winners like Joey Couden, Jerry Odeen, and Jared Jaffee are still in the running as well.

Brandt Doubles Up on Easton ; Adams Survives

Nível 26 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

On a {q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{3-Clubs} board, Stuart Easton was in the big blind and check-called every street coming from Lawrence Brandt on the button.

It was 225,000 on the flop 475,000 on the turn and 1,100,000 on the river. On this last bet, Easton snap-called, convinced that he was going to split. But he had a bad surprise.

Lawrence Brandt: {3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Spades}{a-Hearts}
Stuart Easton: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{4-Spades}

Brandt made a full house on the river to crack Easton Kings, and he also had A-2 for a lo. He scooped the pot and almost hit the five millions of chips, before he played another hand just after this one, against Jason Adams.

Adams was all in for his last 415,000 and Brandt tried to eliminate him :

Jason Adams: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Lawrence Brandt: {a-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

Adams yelled for high cards and the dealer put a {9-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{q-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{j-Spades} board, which gave him the win. Adams is still surviving in this tournament like a warrior.

Big Pot Gets Chopped

Nível 26 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Jerry Odeen raised to 135,000 preflop and was called by both Robert Tanita in the small blind and Richard Crooks in the big blind.

The flop of {q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{a-Hearts} saw Tanita check to Crooks who bet 300,000 which only Odeen called.

The turn of {6-Spades} saw Crooks size up to 500,000 and Odeen called once more and the same action occured on the river {8-Clubs} for a sizing of 1,300,000.

Crooks turned over {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} for a flush and a six-five low, but Odeen turned over {8-Spades}{6-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} for a better six-five low and he took down half.

The rail confused by what was happened, heard the table explain that it was a chop pot, to which one railbird responded "everyone loves a chop pot."
