June 27th saw the start of Event #57: DeepStack Championship No-Limit Hold'em at the 2022 WSOP at Bally's and Las Vegas. The field reached 4,913 entrants by the close of late registration generating a prize pool of $2,505,630. The final 737 players are all taking home a chunk of that prize pool, with the minimum cash being $961. The eventual winner will take home a pay day of $299,464 and of course the highly sought after WSOP gold bracelet. Play will resume today at 12:00 p.m. local time.

Among those still in pursuit of that bracelet, American Bradley Miller leads the way with the biggest stack, bagging 1,165,000 at the end of the night. Fellow Americans Mark Olivo (1,052,000) and John Ypma (1,000,000) also managed to finish the night at or above 1,000,000 chips.

There were plenty of familiar faces who bagged at the end of the night. Jeremy Ausmus (502,000) is still in contention, looking for his fifth career bracelet and second of this series. Chris Moorman (96,000), Tuan Le (156,000), Eric Baldwin (468,000), Brett Shaffer (466,000), Ryan Eriquezzo (622,000), and Mark Seif (666,000) will all return to play with their eyes set on their third career bracelets. 2021 Main Event finalist Jack Oliver (115,000) remains in the mix, while previous Main Event Champions Greg Raymer and Scott Davies failed to bag. Paul Dewald (560,000), the first WSOP.com Player of the Year back in 2015, also managed to bag.

Players will play through 10 levels, beginning at Level 18, with 5,000/10,000 blinds with a 10,000 big blind ante. Levels will be extended from 40 to 60 minutes long for the remainder of the event. A 15 minute break is scheduled after every second level, with a 60 minute dinner break slated for after Level 23, expected to be around 6:30 p.m. local time.

Be sure to stay tuned in to PokerNews for live coverage of this event, as well as all other WSOP bracelet events at the 2022 World Series of Poker at Bally's and Paris Las Vegas.

Nível 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Jonathan Tamayo opened to 22,000 and got called by Christoph Ritter on the button and Thomas Welch in the big blind.

Howchin Flops a Set to Double Up

Nível 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Steven Howchin moved all in from the cutoff with 97,000 behind. He got one caller, the small blind, who had him covered.

Steven Howchin: {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}
Opponent: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}

Howchin was behind, but that changed quickly on the {k-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} flop. His opponent looked sick as the dealer spread the cards and the {2-Hearts} came into view. The {j-Spades} gave the opponent a gutshot to pick up a few more outs, but it proved fruitless as the {6-Spades} river was a complete brick, and Howchin's set of deuces was still best.

Madonia Busts Kolness

Nível 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Tyler Kolness raised to 22,000 and was called by Philip Denomme in the hijack and Jeff Madonia in the big blind.

The flop fanned {8-Spades}{7-Spades}{8-Hearts} and Madonia checked to Kolness who shoved for around 150,000 left. Denomme quickly folded but Madonia snap-called:

Tyler Kolness: {a-Spades}{3-Spades}
Jeff Madonia: {j-Spades}{8-Diamonds}

Madonia had hit trips and Kolness didn't find any help on the {q-Diamonds} turn or {j-Clubs} river and was eliminated from the tournament.

Wrong Timing for Ripper

Nível 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Siddharth Siddharth raised under the gun and it folded to Walter Ripper in the big blind, who called.

The dealer showed a flop of {j-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{k-Clubs} and Ripper check-called Siddharth for 20,000. Things heated up on the {10-Hearts} turn. Ripper checked and Siddharth continued for 35,000. Ripper tanked for a minute, then shoved for around 170,000. He was snap-called by Siddharth.

Walter Ripper: {q-Spades}{6-Spades}
Siddharth Siddharth: {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

Ripper was drawing dead, facing a flush in Siddharth 's hand, and made his way to the exit after the {7-Spades} completed the board.

Nível 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

After the button moved all in for 325,000, Lois Dufouleur quickly called from early position with his opponent covered.

Opponent: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Lois Dufouleur: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}

Dufouleur was out in front and just needed to fade an ace. He did so successfully, as the runout came {5-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}. After a quick count to make sure Dufouleur did indeed have his opponent covered, he scooped the pot while his opponent headed for the payout desk.
