Batista Doubles With Sixes

Nível 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

After an open from the hijack position, Vasco Batista moved all in from the cutoff for 985,000 chips. When the action folded back around, the call was made and Batista was at risk.

Vasco Batista: {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}
Opponent: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

The board ran out {7-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} to give Batista the double up.

Curtis Cracks Bowen's Kings

Nível 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Michael Curtis raised to 170,000 in early position and was three-bet in middle position by Christopher Bowen to 400,000.

Curtis just called the raise with 470,000 behind.

On the {k-Spades}{9-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop, Curtis checked and Bowen moved all in for that 430,000, which Curtis happily called off.

Michael Curtis: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Christopher Bowen: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}

Curtis's kings had cracked Bowen's aces, and while Bowen picked up a flush draw on the {6-Spades} turn, the {4-Diamonds} river couldn't save him, sending a big double-up to Curtis.

Zolotow Eliminated in One-Two Punch

Nível 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Steve Zolotow
Steve Zolotow

Steve Zolotow has just been eliminated after losing a pair of hands.

He was left short-stacked with approximately 400,000 when he jammed in middle position with {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} and was called by Derek Lacock with {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}. The board came {3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}, bringing no help to the two-time bracelet winner and sending him to the rail.

Lacock and his tablemate Chad Layne were also kind enough to pass along the details of a hand prior to this that took the majority of Zolotow's chips, where Zolotow opened to 110,000 and was three-bet by Layne to 330,000. Zolotow then moved in for 1,100,000 and was snap-called by Layne with {a-}{a-}.

Zolotow was caught with {7-}{7-} and got no help, leaving him short-stacked for his imminent elimination at the hands of Lacock.

Daniel Negreanu on Justin Bonomo: "Indoctrinated & Brainwashed Beyond Repair"

Nível 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Justin Bonomo & Daniel Negreanu
Justin Bonomo & Daniel Negreanu

Daniel Negreanu went off on Justin Bonomo in his Monday WSOP vlog, accusing his high-stakes foe of being a "cheater" and said that he's "totally indoctrinated" by his social justice beliefs.

On Friday, after busting his second bullet in Event #50: $250,000 Super High Roller No-Limit Hold'em on a runner-runner bad beat, "DNegs" slammed his phone in frustration on the way out.

Most poker players on social media seemed to understand the frustration considering he's down nearly $1 million for the summer, but Bonomo was highly critical and went so far as to accuse the Poker Hall of Famer of "violence" and that incidents such as this could make others feel unsafe at the table.

Negreanu began his Day 27 World Series of Poker vlog by defending himself against Bonomo's tweets, and he didn't hold back.

"Someone sent me a tweet where Whacko Bonomo said that if he tied his shoes in front of someone that he wouldn't do it, because he's totally indoctrinated and a lost cause," Negreanu said. "The guy is a completely lost cause."

Hawes Gets His Revenge and an Elimination

Nível 23 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Gregory Hawes
Gregory Hawes

Shortly after their big pot at table 629, an even bigger pot took place between Gregory Hawes and Gerry Harris, with Jose Lima getting caught in the crossfire.

Hawes raised under the gun to 100,000 and was called in early position by Harris. Lima then moved all in for 655,000 from middle position. Hawes then moved in for about a million and Harris called having both players covered.

Jose Lima: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Gregory Hawes: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Gerry Harris: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}

The flop came {k-Hearts}{9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}, pairing Hawes' king to give him the lead. The {3-Clubs}{6-Hearts} turn and river brought no help to either of his opponents and Hawes took down a huge pot to vault over three million in chips.
