Carlo Arevalo's Story

Nível 11 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Carlo Arevalo is among the tables today. Currently he is nursing a below average stack but is looking to grind up a stack and get his first World Series bracelet.

The incredibly friendly Arevalo was willing to share some of his background to PokerNews during the dinner break. He joined the U.S Marine Corp from '03 - '07 at just 19 years old. He was deployed in Iraq during '04 - '05 and served in several major conflicts.

He's a retired project manager and consultant now but his time in the armed forces has taken him across the world to Thailand, Japan and Korea also.

He, like many, would play poker with fellow service men and women and trade commodities while playing cards to pass time and have some fun. He used to swap American cigarettes, disposable camera and beers with British servicemen. Now some almost 20 years later since he joined the Marines, he enjoys playing poker for fun.

They also offer a preview of the PokerNews Cup at Golden Nugget June 24-28 and offer their picks after the final ten nominees were released for the Poker Hall of Fame Class of 2022.

Skare Is Scared, But There Is No Reason To Be

Nível 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

After John Skare moved all in for his last 35,000 over a 2,000 bet and 10,000 three-bet from Loic Debregeas, all three players were committed for stacks.

John Skare : {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Loic Debregeas: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Opponent: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

It wasn't easy for Skare who needed to fade diamonds on the {9-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} flop, but the safe {8-Spades} turn and {7-Spades} river completed the board to give him the triple up.
