Nível 16
Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

Phil Hellmuth and Ali Eslami both drew two. Hellmuth bet and Eslami raised. Hellmuth called and drew one. Eslami stood pat.

Hellmuth check-called a bet.

"I'll break a nine," he said as he drew one. Eslami stood pat. Hellmuth then bet and Eslami called.

Nível 15

Players are going on a short break. Here are the counts from the other two tables with 16 players remaining.

Hastings Wins Last Hand Before Break

Nível 15

Brian Hastings, Farzad Bonyadi and Ali Eslami all drew two. Hastings bet and Bonyadi called. Eslami then raised and both players called.

Hastings drew one, Bonyadi drew two and Eslami stood pat.

It checked to Eslami who bet. Hastings then check-raised and Bonyadi folded. Eslami thought a while longer before also folding, with Hastings now the chip leader as players headed on another break.

Thorpe's Secret to Success; Hand Holding

Just after doubling through Shaun Deeb courtesy of a little help from Daniel Zack, the still short stacked Mike Thorpe found himself all in against Deeb again after the first draw.

Thorpe stood pat on the second draw while Deeb drew one. On the final draw Thorpe stood pat again and Deeb went into the tank. Deeb probed an uncharacteristically stoic Thorpe for information but to no avail. "It's killing you to not speak", Deeb said as Thorpe remained silent. Thorpe, meanwhile, had grasped Zack's hand in an effort to replicate the previous success of that strategy.

Finally, Deeb decided not to draw. "Nine-Seven", announced Thorpe, which was good enough to secure a second consecutive double up.

Thorpe Secures Crucial Double

Mike Thorpe raised leaving himself just 2,000 behind. Shaun Deeb re-raised and the remaining players folded.

Thorpe drew two, two and then one whereas Deeb drew two, one and then stood pat with {10-}{8-}{7-}{6-}{2-}

It's worth mentioning that both Thorpe and tablemate Daniel Zack had been holding hands ever since Thorpe was in before the first draw.

After Thorpe was pitched his final card, he allowed Zack to peel it for him. Thorpe sat with {8-}{5-}{4-}{2-} and would double after Zack peeled a {9-}.

Both Matt Edgar and Marco Johnson drew two cards. Edgar bet and Johnson called.

Edgar drew one and Johnson drew two. Edgar bet and Johnson raised. Edgar called and drew one while Johnson stood pat.

Both players checked.

"Pair," announced Edgar, with Johnson tabling {j-}{10-}{7-}{5-}{3-}

"That's the third-best jack-ten," said tablemate Billy O'Neil. "Make sure you right that down."

Thorpe Still Short; Wasserson Wins Three-Way Pot

Nível 15

Eric Wasserson drew three cards while Christopher Claassen and Daniel Zack drew one. All three players checked.

All three players then drew one card and Wasserson bet. Both opponents called. Wasserson stood pat on the final draw, with Claassen and Zack drawing one.

It checked around and Wasserson tabled {8-}{7-}{6-}{5-}{2-} for the win.

Edgar Leaves Wong Short

Nível 15

Matt Edgar opened from under the gun and Danny Wong three-bet from one seat over. Action folded back around to Edgar, who made the call to send the two players heads-up to the initial draw.

Both players took one card on the first draw and Edgar checked to Wong, who fired out a bet. Edgar responded with a raise, which Wong, with no hesitation, re-raised. With the action back on Edgar, he paused, seemingly confused by the re-raise but ultimately tossed in calling chips.

Edgar took another card on the second draw while Wong stood pat before putting out another bet, which Edgar called.

The final draw saw Edgar take one more card and Wong once again stand pat. Action checked through and Edgar tabled {7-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{2-}. Wong, shaking his head, tossed his hand into the muck as Edgar told him he had broken an eight in response to Wong's re-raise after the first draw.

Matt Edgar opened, Yuval Bronshtein raised and Matt Edgar then re-raised with Bronshtein the only caller.

Bronshtein drew two and Johnson one. Johnson bet and Bronshtein called.

The action repeated on the second draw and the subsequent betting round, with both players drawing one on the final draw.

Johnson bet again and Bronshtein took his time before calling. Johnson tabled {10-}{7-}{6-}{4-}{2-} and won the pot.

Then, Danny Wong defended his big blind from a Billy O'Neil under-the-gun open and drew three. O'Neil drew one. Wong check-called a bet and drew one as O'Neil stood pat.

Again Wong check-called a bet before both players stood pat. Wong checked, but folded when O'Neil bet.
