Danny Wong
Danny Wong

Danny Wong opened from middle position and action folded to Yuval Bronshtein in the small blind, who three-bet. Wong flatted.

On the first draw, Bronshtein took one card while Wong stood pat. Bronnshtein then checked to Wong who led out and was called.

The second draw saw Bronshtein again take one card and Wong once more stand pat. As after the first draw, Bronshtein checked to Wong who did not slow down but rather fired off another bet. Bronshtein was going nowhere and made the call.

The same drawing pattern as the previous two rounds was repeated during the final draw, after which Bronshtein led into Wong who snapped it off. Bronshtein flipped over {8-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-} and Wong, unable to show a better hand, was left with just 37,000.

A couple hands later Bronshtein opened from the cutoff and Marco Johnson called on the button. Wong raised from the big blind, leaving himself just 1,000 behind. Both Bronshtein and Johnson called.

The first draw saw Wong and Bronshtein take two cards while Johnson drew one. Action then checked through to the second draw, where the same drawing pattern was repeated. Wong checked and Bronshtein led out. Johnson called from the button and Wong tossed his last chip into the middle to put himself officially at risk.

On the final draw, Wong took one more card, Bronshtein stood pat and Johnson also drew a card. Bronshtein and Johnson checked and Bronshtein tabled {10-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-}. Johnson mucked and, after a moments hesitation, Wong did the same, ending his run in 15th place.

As Thorpe stood up to leave, Wasserson did offer some last words of consolation. "I'm sorry Mike...at least it went to me".
