Klassen Chipping Up

Nível 13 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Yi Klassen added a haul of chips to her stack in a hand where she held {a-}{k-} against the {k-}{k-} of Ray Henson and paired her ace on the turn after calling a flop raise.

A few hands later, a middle position player raised and Klassen three-bet from the cutoff. The opponent called.

The opponent checked on the flop of {9-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and called a bet from Klassen, but then opted to check-fold when Klassen fired another bet on the {6-Diamonds} turn.

Shayesteh and Rast Trade Pots

Nível 13 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Brian Rast opened with a raise from under the gun and Amir Shayesteh three-bet from the cutoff. Rast called and they went heads-up to a flop of {8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{3-Hearts}. Both players checked to the {3-Clubs} on the turn and Shayesteh took it down with a bet on the turn.

On the next hand, Shayesteh raised it up from the hijack and Rast defended from the big blind. The flop fell {10-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and Rast led out with a bet which Shayesteh called.

The turn was the {q-Hearts} and Rast fired out another bet. Shayesteh still called and the {2-Hearts} completed the board. Rast bet for the third time and Shayesteh finally folded this time.

Klassen Scores a Double

Nível 12 : 3,000/5,000, 0 ante

Klassen bet on the flop of {3-Spades}{q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and her opponent called. Klassen bet again on the {5-Spades} turn and her opponent raised to put her all-in. Klassen called.

Yi Klassen: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Cutoff: {2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}

Klassen was far in front with top pair and held for a double-up as the {3-Diamonds} peeled off on the river.

Underwood Gets Paid by Martini

Nível 12 : 3,000/5,000, 0 ante

In a three-bet pot, three players headed to a flop of {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. Benjamin Underwood led out with a bet from the small blind and was called by Matthew Schreiber in the big blind and Julien Martini in the hijack.

The {3-Diamonds} on the turn put four diamonds on the board which slowed the action as all three players checked. The {5-Clubs} completed the board and Underwood fired out a bet. Schreiber quickly folded but Martini looked him up. Underwood tabled {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} for a flush and Martini was unable to beat it.

Mike Thorpe had taken a big hit to his stack before he got the rest of his chips in the middle in a three-way pot against Joey Couden and Felipe Ramos, both of whom had Thorpe covered.

"You can write about this bust-out hand," Thorpe told PokerNews as the preflop action played out. "I feel like I'm about to be knocked out."

The flop came {q-Spades}{k-Clubs}{k-Hearts} and Ramos checked to Couden, who bet. Ramos check-raised and Couden called. The rest of Ramos' chips got in on the {7-Clubs} turn.

Mike Thorpe: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Felipe Ramos: {k-Spades}{10-Spades}
Joey Couden: {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

Couden had flopped a full house to have both opponents drawing dead headed to the {3-Clubs} river to score a double-knockout.

"Good game. See you guys later," said Thorpe as he left the tournament area.

At the same table, Julien Martini has managed to run up a micro-stack through multiple double and triple-ups to now sit with a healthy arsenal of 240,000 chips.
