Von Altizer Leads Final Nine in Event #20: $1,500 Limit 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw

Play has come to a close on Day 2 of Event #20: $1,500 Limit 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw at the 2022 World Series of Poker at Bally’s and Paris Las Vegas. 108 players returned from an original field of 350 to play ten 60-minute levels, and after the dust settled, only nine found a bag for the third and final day.
Of those nine it is Von Altizer who emerged as the chipleader, sitting on a stack of 2,625,000. Not far behind her is Yufei Zhong with 2,290,000. They are well out ahead of the rest of the field, with four-time bracelet winner and mixed game specialist Benny Glaser (1,185,000) the only other player above 1,000,000. Glaser is one of two former bracelet winners still in the field, with Kenny Hsiung (485,000) being the other.
Notables who returned for Day 2 but were unable to find a bag for Day 3 include Allen Kessler, Joe McKeehen, Jake Daniels and Adam Friedman (16th-$5,054).

The remaining nine players are guaranteed $8,230, but all eyes will be on the first-place prize of $108,250 and the coveted gold bracelet that accompanies it. Christopher Heafner Eliminated in 10th Place ($6,359)

Christopher Heafner opened from middle position and action folded to Yufei Zhong in the big blind who opted to defend.
Both players took three cards on the initial draw. Zhong checked to Heafner who led out and was met by a raise from Zhong. Heafner tossed in calling chips to send the two players to the second draw.
Zhong stood pat while Heafner took two more. Zhong bet, Heafner pushed the remainder of his chips into the pot and Zhong called to put him at risk.
Zhong stood pat on the final draw and Heafner drew one. Zhong turned over 
and Heafner, showing eight-seven, was drawing dead. After turning over a meaningless 
Heafner headed to the payout desk. He was not too downhearted though, saying that he was leaving for Disneyland in just a few hours.

Lynn Secures the Double Up

Joining the action on the draws, both Peter Lynn and Yufei Zhong drew two. Action checked through.
Lynn drew one while Zhong drew two. Lynn bet and Zhong called.
Both players drew one and Lynn moved all in. Zhong toiled over his decision before throwing in calling chips. Lynn showed 
while Zhong mucked as Lynn won the pot and secured the double up.

Joining the action with a max five bet and a call, Jake Schwartz was all in up against Kenny Hsiang. Schwartz drew two and Hsiang drew one.
Schwartz drew one and Hsiang stood pat.
Schwartz drew one again and Hsiang stood pat again. Hsiang showed while Schwartz paired his deuce to be eliminated from the tournament in 11th Place

Phillip Hui Eliminated in 12th Place ($5,054)

Yufei Zhong opened from the cutoff and was met by a three-bet from Christopher Heafner out of the small blind. Phillip Hui called in the big blind as did Zhong.
On the first draw Heafner took two, Hui stood pat and Zhong drew three. Heafner then checked to Hui, who moved all in. Zhong made the call to officially put Hui at risk and Heafner followed suit.
Heafner drew another two on the second draw, Hui stood pat again and Zhong took two. Heafner then check-raised a bet from Zhong, who in turn responded with a re-raise. Far from dissuading Heafner, he actually came back over the top of Zhong's raise. Zhong ended the button clicking at that point by just calling.
The final draw saw Heafner stand pat, Hui drew one, and Zhong decline the option to take more cards. Heafner and Zhong both showed while Hui, up against the second nuts, was somehow still drawing live holding . He could not find the necessary five, however, instead turning over , sending him home in 12th Place, good for $5,054.

On the final draw Lynn stood pat and Sotiropoulos tanked before deciding to draw one. Lynn instantly announced he had it as he showed . Sotiropoulos mucked as he was eliminated from the tournament.

Zhong Draws Three to Make Number Two

Yufei Zhong opened on the button and was met by a three-bet from Hieu Luu out of the big blind. Zhong made the call to send the two players heads up to the initial draw.
Luu stood pat, causing Zhong to remark that he "was in trouble" as he took three cards. Luu led out and was called by Zhong.
On the second draw Luu stood pat again while Zhong drew three. Luu bet for a second time, only to see Zhong raise. Looking confused, Luu eventually called.
The third draw saw both players stand pat. Luu, wary, checked and Zhong immediately threw out a bet. "How good are you?" asked Luu as, after some deliberation, he mucked his hand. "Good fold", said Zhong as he tabled number two.
