Hall Emerges From Raising War With Wong

Nível 16 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

A-5 Triple Draw

Jerry Wong and Galen Hall were already two of the largest stacks in the room before just tangling in a blind vs. blind confrontation.

Wong opened the pot with a raise from the small blind, Hall three-bet in the big blind, and Wong called.

Wong took two and Hall one. When action checked to him, Hall bet and Wong raised. Hall called and both players stood pat.

Wong check-raised again after the second draw. This time, Hall came back with a three-bet and Wong quickly mucked his cards.

Eisman Stands Pat, Busts Schultz

Nível 16 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Badugi

Matthew Schultz was all in on the second draw and up against Philip Eisman, Frank Kassela, and Larry Tull.

Eisman stood pat and bet, with only Kassela calling. "Don't give me any more of that suit. I don't need any more of those," Kassela instructed the dealer as he took one.

Eisman stood pat again and bet. Kassela flipped over 4-3-2 and mucked. Eisman had {a-Spades}{2-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} for a Badugi to win the side pot and eliminate Schultz.

"I don't think you've lost a big pot since you moved over here," Kassela lamented after the hand.

Buchalter Takes From Negreanu

Nível 16 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw

Daniel Negreanu raised from under the gun and Nicholas Marsico called from the button while Yehuda Buchalter came along from the big blind.

On the first draw, Yehuda Buchalter took one while Negreanu and Marsico each drew two. All three players got a bet into the middle and moved to the second draw, where Buchalter took one while Negreanu asked for two again and Marsico drew one.

Buchalter bet and Negreanu called before Marsico tossed his hand in the muck. Buchalter stood pat and Negreanu took one on the final draw.

Both players checked and Buchalter turned over {8-}{7-}{5-}{4-}{3-} to take the pot while Negreanu flashed {7-}{7-} and threw the losing hand in the muck.

Wong Takes Out Day 1 Chip Leader

Nível 16 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

A-5 Triple Draw

James Opie began the day as the chip leader but just had his run end at the hands of Danny Wong.

Opie was already all in heading to the last draw when he took two. Wong patted. Opie showed A-6 as he prepared to turn over his last two cards.

Wong showed {9-}{8-}{5-}{2-}{a-}. "I threw away an eight," Opie said without getting any help on the draw. He collected his cards and tossed them back to the dealer before making his way to the payout desk.

Lin Beats Epstein in "Degenerate's Game"

Nível 16 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Badugi

As the cards were being dealt, Ren Lin described Badugi as his favorite game of the rotation.

"No. This is a degenerate's game," countered Alex Epstein. "It's too hard to make a hand in this game."

Epstein and Lin would head to the first draw, along with Kim Stone. Epstein took two, while Stone and Lin took one.

Lin bet and both opponents called. He then stood pat and bet again, with only Epstein calling. Both players stood pat before Lin bet again.

"You could not act stronger. It's unfortunate my hand is so good," Epstein said before calling. Lin showed him the {8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs} and Epstein flashed a nine Badugi before mucking.
