Wong Runs Well in Badugi

Nível 17 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

Badugi

Jerry Wong raised before Galen Hall put in a three-bet. Bariscan Betil called, as did Wong.

All three players drew one and Hall bet. Both Betil and Wong called and drew one again.

Hall checked this time, allowing Betil to open the betting. Wong raised, Hall folded, and Betil called. Both players patted on the third draw and Betil called a bet.

"Nuts," Wong said, showing {a-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{4-Spades}. "Nuts is always good."

The next hand, Wong called a raise in the big blind from small blind Max Kruse. He took two and Kruse took one, then called when Kruse went all in for his last 18,000.

On the third draw, Wong took one and hit a 6-5-4-A Badugi. The German soccer star missed his 3-2-A draw and hit the rail.

Lin Beats Epstein in "Degenerate's Game"

Nível 16 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Badugi

As the cards were being dealt, Ren Lin described Badugi as his favorite game of the rotation.

"No. This is a degenerate's game," countered Alex Epstein. "It's too hard to make a hand in this game."

Epstein and Lin would head to the first draw, along with Kim Stone. Epstein took two, while Stone and Lin took one.

Lin bet and both opponents called. He then stood pat and bet again, with only Epstein calling. Both players stood pat before Lin bet again.

"You could not act stronger. It's unfortunate my hand is so good," Epstein said before calling. Lin showed him the {8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs} and Epstein flashed a nine Badugi before mucking.
