Sarle Takes Some From Wong

Nível 24 : 50,000/100,000, 0 ante

A-5 Triple Draw

Dominick Sarle opened with a raise and called when Jerry Wong re-raised. Wong took two, while Sarle drew three and called a bet after the first draw.

Both players checked the second draw. Wong took two more on the third draw and Sarle drew one.

Wong checked again and Sarle stuck in a bet. Wong quickly called.

"Nine," Sarle announced, showing a 9-8 low to take a chunk off the chip leader's stack.

Daniel Strelitz
Daniel Strelitz

A-5 Triple Draw

Daniel Strelitz limped in from the small blind, then called when big blind Dominick Sarle raised. Strelitz took three and Sarle two.

Sarle bet after the first draw and Strelitz called. Both players took two and, this time, Strelitz led out. Sarle came back with a raise and Strelitz called, taking one while Sarle stood pat.

Strelitz bet out again after the draw, sending Sarle into the tank for about a minute. He eventually slammed in a tower of chips as Strelitz turned over 6-5-3-2-A.

"Did you catch the ace," Sarle asked after the hand.

"I caught the six," Strelitz replied.

Alex Epstein Eliminated in 6th Place ($23,052)

Alex Epstein

2-7 Triple Draw

Jerry Wong raised from the cutoff and Alex Epstein called from the big. The latter drew two and the former three.

Epstein then bet, Wong called, and on the second draw it went one-two.

Epstein bet 100,000 and then called off his last 10,000 after Wong raised. Both players then indicated they'd be drawing one before tabling their hands.

Alex Epstein: {8-}{7-}{5-}{4-}
Jerry Wong: {9-}{5-}{6-}{2-}

Wong showed an {a-} giving Epstein plenty of outs, but as he squeezed he said it was a three-sider, meaning it was either a six, seven, or eight, all cards that would lose him the hand.

"Automatically dead," he said after showing an {8-} to make a losing pair.

Monnette Gets There

Nível 24 : 50,000/100,000, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw

Dominick Sarle has steadily increased his chip stack so far at the final table but just took a hit in a hand against John Monnette.

On the second draw, Sarle stood pat and bet while Monnette took one and called. Monnette took one more on the third draw and this time led out with a bet.

Sarle gave a frustrated sigh before calling as Monnette showed 8-6-4-3-2 to take the pot.

A-5 Triple Draw

In the last hand of the level, Dominick Sarle raised to 80,000 and John Monnette defended from the big blind. The latter drew three and the former two before it went check-bet-call.

Both players took two on the second draw and Monnette checked. Sarle bet and then called when Monnette woke up with a check-raise to 160,000.

Monnette stood pat and Sarle drew one. It went bet-call before Monnette tabled {7-}{5-}{3-}{2-}{a-}.

"Six straight," Sarle said revealing the winning {6-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-}.

Badugi

Philip Eisman moved all in for his last 80,000. Action folded to small blind Matthew Schreiber who announced a three-bet and John Monnette called in the big blind.

Monnette stood pat and bet after the first draw, getting rid of Schreiber. Eisman stood pat on the first draw but took one on the second and third draws.

Monnette had {9-Clubs}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} for a Badugi. Eisman was showing {6-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and needed to improve but caught the {a-Diamonds} and was eliminated in seventh place.
