D'Ambrosio Turns Set over Set to Win Avnilov's Huge Stack

Nível 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Jimmy D'Ambrosio
Jimmy D'Ambrosio

The under-the-gun player raised to 12,000 and Jimmy D'Ambrosio (early position), Gary Avnilov (cutoff), and the big blind all call.

The flop came {10-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and all three players check to Avnilov, who bet 30,000. Only D'Ambrosio called and they went to the turn.

A {k-Hearts} on the turn had Avnilov betting 45,000 into D'Ambrosio, who sat in thought before turning on the table talk, proclaiming: "You know what? I'll put your ass all in." Avnilov snap-called.

Gary Avnilov: {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}
Jimmy D'Ambrosio {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

With D'Ambrosio turning the nuts against Avnilov's set of sixes, the Brooklyn-native only had one out but the river brought the {7-Diamonds} to give D'Ambrosio a pot of well over 500,000 chips.

D'Ambrosio would win a couple of small pots after to send his chip stack over the 700,000 mark.

Nível 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Noah Schwartz
Noah Schwartz

On a board of {j-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{2-Hearts}, the big blind player was first to act and was in the tank. She slowly cut out a stack of 75000 and slid it into the pot. Her opponent, Noah Shwartz, snap- called.

The big blind showed {j-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} for trip jacks but Schwartz tabled his {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for a rivered backdoor flush.

Schwartz, self-proclaimed tournament wizard, was awarded the pot which brought his stack close to half a million.

Paik on Right End of Epic 565,000-Chip Pre-Flop All-In

Nível 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Sam Paik raised from early position for 16,000 and was three-bet from the big blind for 40,000. Paik four-bet to 125,000 and his opponent went all-in for his 280,000 stack and was snapped off.

Big Blind: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Sam Paik: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

Paik was well behind but picked up a straight draw on the {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop.

The {3-Hearts} was no help but he spiked one of his seven outs when the {10-Hearts} gave him the straight on the river, allowing him to scoop one of the biggest pots of the night.

2021 Third-place Finisher Chrishan Sivasundaram Still in the Hunt

Nível 15 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Chrishan Sivasundaram, who took home third place and $131,675 in this same event last year, is still amongst the 1,100 players remaining in the field.

You may remember Sivasundaram famously being ahead after his {j-Clubs}{2-Clubs} small-blind shove was called by eventual champion Zhi Wu with {7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}.

Of course, Wu flopped two pair and went on to win the bracelet.

It's Cheaper To Believe D'Ambrosio

Nível 15 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Jimmy D'Ambrosio
Jimmy D'Ambrosio

Daniel Lazrus shoved preflop for his last six big blinds, 35,000, and he found callers in Jimmy D'Ambrosio in the small blind and the player in the big.

The action went check-check on the {7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{a-Spades} flop, then D'Ambrosio fired 17,500 on the {2-Clubs} turn. The big blind called and they saw the river {q-Hearts}.

D'Ambrosio sized up to 54,500 and the big blind went into the tank.

"It's cheaper to believe," said D'Ambrosio to his opponent on his left. "I don't know why you're thinking this long."

Shortly after the big blind shoved all in for enough to cover and D'Ambrosio snap-called. The big blind sheepishly showed {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} but it was no match for the {7-Hearts}{7-Spades} full house of D'Ambrosio. Meanwhile, Lazrus was eliminated with {a-}{9-}.

With that pot, D'Ambrosio is nearing half a million in chips.

Nível 15 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Opponent: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Johnathan Ho: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}

Ho dominated his opponent preflop and continued his dominance on the {2-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} flop.
