Fuchs Eliminated by Imsirovic

Nível 22 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Salko Imsirovic
Salko Imsirovic

The near identical stacks of Salko Imsirovic and Florian Fuchs went into the middle preflop to create the following all-in showdown.

Florian Fuchs: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Salko Imsirovic: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}

Fuchs was left in dire shape and picked up some back door equity on the {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop. However, the {a-Clubs} turn instantly left him drawing dead and the {3-Diamonds} river was a mere formality. Both stacks were counted and Fuchs had exactly one million, which Imsirovic had covered by a mere 10,000 in chips.

Cowen Wakes Up with Aces to End Shing's Main Event

Nível 22 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Philip Shing
Philip Shing

A series of preflop raises saw Philip Shing get his 1.3 million stack in the middle and Robert Cowen called from the big blind.

Philip Shing: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Robert Cowen: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}

Shing's made hand of queens was well behind the pocket rockets of Cowen and the {8-Hearts}{k-Spades}{3-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{a-Hearts} runout provided no help to Shing as it ended his Main Event.

Coughlan Can't Catch Any Help Against Kiriopoulos

Nível 22 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Demosthenes Kiriopoulos
Demosthenes Kiriopoulos

The action kicked off with a min-raise to 60,000 by Francis Cruz and Casey Coughlan then three-bet to 180,000 in the hijack. Demosthenes Kiriopoulos four-bet to 510,000 in the big blind and Cruz instantly folded while Coughlan called after some consideration with around one million behind.

On the {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop, Kiriopoulos bet 250,000 and called the shove by Coughlan within one second.

Casey Coughlan: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Demosthenes Kiriopoulos: {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}

There was no help for Coughlan on the {7-Spades} turn and {3-Hearts} river, ending his WSOP Main Event run while Kiriopoulos further increased his already impressive stack.

Marle No More

Nível 22 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

After losing ace-king versus pocket queens moments before, Marle Spragg got her final chips in with {10-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and got looked up by {a-Spades}{q-Spades}. The board failed to provide any help for Spragg, ending the popular content creator's Main Event run in the second level of the day.

First Break of the Day

Nível 21 : 12,000/24,000, 24,000 ante
Chris Moneymaker
Chris Moneymaker

The remaining 243 players are heading on their first break of the day. It will roughly be a 25-minute break as the tournament staff colors up the 1,000 denomination chips. Here is a look at what happened in the first level of Day 5:

A New WSOP Main Event Champion Will Be Crowned

Nível 21 : 12,000/24,000, 24,000 ante
Qui Nguyen
Qui Nguyen

Qui Nguyen moved all-in for around 455,000 and Jesse Lonis eyeballed the stack from the other side of the table before making the call in the cutoff. All players behind got out of the way and the cards were flipped over.

Qui Nguyen: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Jesse Lonis: {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}

The rail of Nguyen was pulling closer to the table in order to see the showdown. However, they didn't have any reason to celebrate as the board ran out {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}. Nguyen failed to improve and Lonis held up with his pocket pair to send the 2016 WSOP Main Event champion to the rail.

Since no former winners are in the remaining field, it's now certain that a new World Champion will be crowned on November 17.
