Moneymaker Busts Kuhn and Breaks a Million

Nível 12 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Chris Moneymaker
Chris Moneymaker

With about 200,000 in the pot and a board of {10-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}, Chris Moneymaker bet 115,000 in the small blind and Robert Kuhn was in middle position contemplating his decision. He eventually called.

The {q-Hearts} completed the board and Moneymaker slid out a stack of green chips, enough to put Kuhn all-in for his remaining stack of roughly 180,000. Kuhn tanked for several minutes and faced the additional pressure of multiple television cameras waiting on his action. He appeared to even shake his head and chuckle at times. Ultimately, he put in the chips.

"Two pair," Moneymaker said as he turned over {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}. Kuhn could only show {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and took his exit from the table.

"I wanted to slow roll the sh-- out of him but I can't do that in the main event," Moneymaker said after mentioning they joked earlier about slow rolling each other. Moneymaker also remarked that they have a lot of history playing together that could've influenced Kuhn's decision.

At the end of it, Kuhn was sent to the rail, and the 2003 Main Event champion now sits as one of the top players on the leaderboard with a comfy stack of over one million.

Melissa Bryne
Melissa Bryne

With 45,000 in the pot and {6-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{3-Spades}{q-Hearts} on the board, Melissa Bryne bet 25,000 from early position and Philip Neiman called from the button.

The river was {5-Clubs} and Bryne shoved 85,500. Neiman went deep into the tank for several minutes.

"Will you show if I fold?" Neiman asked.

"I'm probably not going to give out free information," Bryne answered.

Neiman eventually called and Bryne turned over {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for the flush. Neiman showed {j-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for the disappointing smaller flush and Bryne scored a big Day 3 double.

Alex Outhred opened to 7,000 and called when Joshua Suyat three-bet to 21,000.

Suyat bet 14,000 on the flop reading {10-Spades}{j-Spades}{a-Spades} and called a raise to 89,000 from Outhred. Outhred led out with a bet of 80,000 on the{10-Clubs} turn and his opponent called.

Outhred slowed down and checked on the {9-Clubs} river. Suyat moved all-in for just under 200,000 and Outhred entered the tank.

"I just need 60 seconds," Outhred said a few minutes into the tank. "I'm not going to take 10 minutes."

Qui Nguyen check-raised a bet of 5,500 from Masashi Fujiike up to 15,000 on the flop {7-Clubs}{5-Spades}{10-Spades}. Fujiike called and they saw the {j-Spades} turn.

Nguyen continued for 25,000 and Fujiike called again. The river was the {k-Hearts} and Nguyen checked. Fujiike fired 100,000 and Nguyen tanked.

After some thought, Nguyen tossed in a call and Fujiike tabled {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts} for a pair. Nguyen turned over {a-Spades}{10-Hearts} for a pair of tens and the winner.

"Oh my gosh," said Fujiike.

"You bluffed the wrong guy," said Nguyen.

"There's a world champ for you," said tablemate James Burns.

Kicker Advantage for Prydvor Busts D'Ambrosio

Nível 12 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Jimmy D'Ambrosio
Jimmy D'Ambrosio

Jimmy D'Ambrosio was the initial preflop raiser and then called a three-bet by Denys Prydvor from one seat over. On the {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop, D'Ambrosio check-called a bet and did so again for 25,000 on the {j-Hearts} turn. The {4-Spades} river completed the board and D'Ambrosio checked once more.

Prydvor now splashed in his T-25,000 chips for a bet of 200,000 and that sent D'Ambrosio into the tank.

"Sorry for taking this long, big spot," he said and then asked if his hand was dead if he were to expose it. Mike Matusow shook his head and the {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} of D'Ambrosio were tabled for 30 seconds before he turned them back over. Eventually, he called all-in and Prydvor tabled the {a-Spades}{k-Clubs} as the winning hand to send D'Ambrosio to the rail.

With about 110,000 in the pot and a board of {q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{5-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}, a player in the hijack checked and Frank Funaro bet 51,000. The hijack player thought about it and called.

The {4-Spades} completed the board and the hijack appeared motionless for a minute before checking. Funaro bet 80,000 and the hijack had another decision. Eventually, he laid down his hand.

"Let's go boys!" Funaro exclaimed as he slammed down the {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and dragged in the pot.

Matusow Leaves Decision to Coin Flip

Nível 11 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante
Mike Matusow
Mike Matusow

Jimmy D'Ambrosio and Mike Matusow told PokerNews about a hand they were involved in which began with a third player opening to 5,400 and Matusow flat-calling as the player next to act. D'Ambrosio then three-bet shoved a stack of 51,000 and the action folded to Matusow.

"My gut told me to call," said Matusow.

Ultimately, Matusow left the decision up to the coin flip by another player at the table. After the toss, Matusow folded ace-queen face-up and D'Ambrosio did not reveal his holding.

"I would've been happy with either a call or a fold," D'Ambrosio said.
