Gerassi Keeps Climbing; Player All-In Without Cards

Nível 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
David Gerassi
David Gerassi

David Gerassi was out of position in a three-way pot on a board of {a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} and called when one of the opponents bet 4,500, while the other player folded.

Gerassi led out for 7,200 on the {q-Diamonds} turn and his opponent called. Gerassi led out again for 17,000 on the {10-Clubs} river and his opponent folded, sending another pot to one of the biggest stacks in the Amazon Room.

At a nearby table, a player was all-in for 17,100 in the one-seat and the dealer accidentally mucked his hand, leaving him at risk and without cards.

After a few phone calls and walkie-talkie conversations, the floor ruled that the player would have to forfeit 1,200 to the pot, with his hand being dead, but could take back the rest of his stack.

"That's the best-case scenario," one player at the table said. "They would never pull your hand from the muck."

Nut Flush for Greenstein

Nível 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Barry Greenstein
Barry Greenstein

With about 70,000 in the pot and a completed board of {j-Spades}{5-Clubs}{3-Spades}{4-Clubs}{q-Clubs}, an early position player checked, Barry Greenstein bet 30,000 in middle position, and the hijack folded. The early position player pondered his options for over a minute, before putting in a stack to call.

Greenstein flipped over {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} for the nut flush and his opponent mucked as there was no hand he could have that would beat it.

Hellmuth Just Wants to Rock and Roll

Nível 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Phil Hellmuth in earlier WSOP action w/ his headphones
Phil Hellmuth in earlier WSOP action w/ his headphones

At the feature table, which will live stream on PokerGO, 16-time bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth went to put headphones on and a production assistant (PA) waved him down subtly, to tell him he’s not allowed to wear headphones. Hellmuth looked annoyed

“Are you sure”, he asked.

The PA responded, “I'm positive”.

Phil took off the headphones and looked annoyed and displeased.

Minutes later the PA called the tournament manager, who consulted with the higher-ups, over and he went tableside to clarify for Hellmuth that he can wear his headphones at a feature table but not a final table. He also noted that Hellmuth can’t have his cell phone at the table and would need to step off the platform/stage to use his phone.

Moments later the tournament manager returned again after consulting with PokerGo production and the WSOP director. He explained to Hellmuth that they were in a tricky position and weren't going to enforce no headphones, but that the issue has to do with camera/production picking up music from headphones, which they aren't licensed to have on the stream.

He left it at that. There was no final or official decision made about the headphones other than explaining to Hellmuth why there was an issue hoping he’d make the right decision or be mindful of audio issues.

Hellmuth was understanding and respectfully said, “You’re just doing your job. And you're doing a good job at doing your job.”

Mizrachi's Jacks Flush Pillai's Queens

Nível 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Robert Mizrachi
Robert Mizrachi

A player from middle position raised to 2,500 and Robert Mizrachi called from the hijack before Shankar Pillai three-bet to 8,500 from the cutoff.

Action folded back to Mizrachi who four-bet to 57,500 and then called the jam from Pillai for roughly 70,000.

Shankar Pillai: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Robert Mizrachi: {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}

Pillai had Mizrachi crushed but had a sweat after the {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{8-Hearts} flop gave Mizrachi a flush draw.

The turn wasn't a bad sight for Pillai as it came a black {6-Clubs}, but the {5-Hearts} fell on the river completing Mizrachi's flush and ended Pillai's Main Event.

Julian Milliard-Feral
Julian Milliard-Feral

Patrick Lacy raised to 2,500 on the button and Julian Milliard-Feral three-bet to 9,000 in the small blind. The big blind folded and Lacy made the call.

On the {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{6-Clubs} flop, Milliard-Feral continued for 25,000 and Lacy jammed all in. After a 10-minute tank, Milliard-Feral called for his stack of 91,400.

Julian Milliard-Feral: {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}
Patrick Lacy: {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

Both players flopped a flush draw and bricked out as the board completed with the {5-Diamonds} on the turn and the {3-Clubs} on the river. Milliad-Feral's ace-high held to double through Lacy.

Miles Busts on River to Jattin

Nível 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Tony Miles
Tony Miles

Tony Miles was in the small blind, had committed 18,000 chips to the pot already, and was facing a raise by Farid Jattin in the cutoff that would put him all-in. Miles rubbed his forehead while contemplating the decision and eventually, sat back in his seat and put in the chips for the call.

Tony Miles: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Farid Jattin: {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

Miles was ahead with the fishhooks but still needed to fade outs. The harmless {9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{5-Spades} flop changed nothing, and the {q-Diamonds} left Miles needing to avoid only three outs on the river. However, the {a-Hearts} spiked the river to pair Jattin's ace, as Miles got up from his seat and took his exit from the tournament.

Xaytavone Doubles Through Cajelais

Nível 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Khamar Xaytavone
Khamar Xaytavone

Erik Cajelais raised to 2,200 on the button and Khamar Xaytavone defended the big blind.

The dealer spread a flop of {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and Xaytavone check-raised Cajelais' bet of 1,600 to 4,000 and Cajelais made the call.

The turn was the {10-Spades} and Xaytavone continued with aggression, betting 12,000. Cajelais wasn't going anywhere as he threw in the chips to call.

The {5-Hearts} landed on the river and Xaytavone jammed for his remaining 41,300. Cajelais called and tabled {9-Spades}{8-Spades} for trip nines on the flop, but was shown the bad news when Xaytavone tabled {2-Clubs}{2-Spades} for a full house.
