Kennedy Spotted at Table 512

Nível 2 : 200/300, 300 ante

Brett Kennedy was in position in a heads-up pot on a board reading {a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and bet about 1,500 when checked to. His opponent called.

The opponent checked again on the {10-Spades} turn and opted to fold when Kennedy threw out a bet of 3,000.

Kennedy gave PokerNews his name and the table reacted strongly upon learning the player's surname.

"Oh my god, you're a Kennedy?" one player said. "Guys, we've got John F. Kennedy, Jr. at our table."

Kennedy assured the table he wasn't cursed but also noted that he did not fly into Vegas.

"I never fly," he said.

Kamei Makes Correct Call

Nível 2 : 200/300, 300 ante

Action was picked up on the river with the board reading {5-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts}{k-Spades}{9-Spades}. Luis Gustavo Shinike Kamei was facing a bet of 16,000 from his opponent with a pot of about 23,000 in the middle.

He thought for about 20 seconds before he called. His opponent showed the {a-Spades}{q-Clubs} which Kamei had beat as he tabled the {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades} and collected the pot for a nice chip up.

Shannon Shorr
Shannon Shorr

Shannon Shorr raised in early position to 700 and Thomas Gjerde called in the small blind.

The dealer spread a flop of {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} and both players checked to see the {2-Hearts} on the turn. Gjerde led out for 1,300 and Shorr made the call.

When the {7-Hearts} river hit the board Gjerde checked to Shorr who put in a bet of 3,900. Gjerde thought it over for a few seconds before making the call. Shorr tabled {q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}, which was a pair of queens on the flop that made a flush on the river and Gjerde mucked his hand.
