Holm Finds Help

Nível 14 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Jeff Madsen opened preflop and Michael Holm was the only player to get involved, calling behind. The dealer laid {j-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} on the flop and Holm called Madsen's continuation bet.

On the {5-Clubs} turn, Madsen barreled for 33,000 and Holm moved all in over the top. It was a quick call from Madsen who turned over pocket-kings, the favorite at this point, with Holm holding {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs} for top pair and a flush draw.

The {2-Clubs} river saved Holm, bringing him a flush and preventing him from hitting the rail.

Pisapia Bombs River

Nível 14 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

In a pot of about 250,000 on the middle and the board reading {3-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} Cassio Pisapia was first to act and thought for several moments before firing a bet of 195,000 into his opponent.

His opponent thought it over for quite a while before opting to fold to give the Brazilian more chips to his massive stack.

Meanwhile another big stack in the room is gaining chips as according to Galen Hall, he is up to 1,360,000.

Hegele and Papadopouluos Avoid Huge Confrontation

Nível 14 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

On a {q-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} flop Robin Hegele bet 25,000 out of the blinds and Kyriakos Papadopouluos raised to 80,000. Hegele called.

The turn was the {k-Diamonds} and Hegele checked. Papadopouluos bet 55,000 this time and Hegele called.

Hegele checked the {8-Hearts} river and Papadopouluos eventually checked behind. Hegele showed {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} and Papadopouluos promptly mucked.

A relieved Hegele wiped his brow and took down the pot.

Phan Cracks Kings to Double

Nível 14 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
John Phan
John Phan

A raise to 11,000 resulted in the three-bet to 51,000 by John Phan on the button and Chris Hunichen in the big blind verified the bet size before squeezing to 151,000. The initial raiser folded and Phan called all in for fewer than 100,000.

John Phan: {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Chris Hunichen: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}

Phan was asking for an ace and his wish was granted on the {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop. The {j-Spades} turn opened up some straight outs and Phan asked for the {5-Clubs}. He didn't mind the {6-Clubs} river either and avoided elimination.

Robinson Crushes a Dream

Nível 14 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Nelson Robinson was all in from the big blind on a completed board of {j-Hearts}{3-Spades}{10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}. A player in the hijack had a bet of 85,000 in front of him into a pot of about 130,000, and Robinson's jam was for 225,000 more effective. The player under the heat fidgeted in his seat and stood up anxiously.

"Seven-four of hearts?" he wondered aloud.

Finally, he flicked in a chip to call, and Robinson turned over the hand he dreaded: {7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}. The player tossed in {6-Hearts}{6-Spades} and knelt by the rail, crushed.

Holley Finds a Big Fold

Nível 14 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

John Holley had a wager of 44,000 in front of him in middle position. A couple of seats over, Johann Ibanez was all in from the hijack for 327,000.

"I wish I had been at this table a little bit longer," Holley said with a sigh. "I'd know exactly what to do."

After another minute or so, he mucked {q-Spades}{q-Clubs} face up. Ibanez said he could pick a card and Holley turned up the {k-Clubs}.

"Kings, 100 percent," Kevin Saul said. "If he lets you pick one, it's always kings."

Holley seemed less confident, seeming to think he may have folded the slight favorite against ace-king.

"I don't fold queens too often," he declared.
