A Pair is Good for Mitchell

Nível 14 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

When you're short-stacked, even the smallest pot can make a difference and Robert Mitchell just won one of those against Jeff Madsen. The four-time bracelet winner had opened to 12,000 under the gun and Mitchell called on his left. With the two players in seats 9 and 1, Madsen had a quick peek around the dealer before the flop was dealt.

It fell {8-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and with numerous straight draws out, Madsen checked and Mitchell did the same. The turn was a {k-Diamonds} and Madsen bet min, tossing a 5k chip into the middle. Mitchell peeled and they heade to the river. It was the {8-Clubs}, pairing the bottom card and once again it went check-check.

Robert Mitchell: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Jeff Madsen: {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}

Mitchell had the better two pair and added a welcome pot to his stack.

Lisandro Shoves the Turn

Nível 14 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Tom Cannuli opened to 15,000 in an early position, Jeff Lisandro called on his left and a player in the small blind joined them to a flop of {3-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}.

Action checked to Lisandro who bet 28,000. The small blind called and Cannuli folded.

The turn fell {a-Hearts} and Lisandro moved all in for 90,500. The other player thought for a moment but then he released his hand.

Big 50 to Main Event

Nível 14 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

The winner of the largest live poker tournament in history in terms of entries, Femi Fashakin, was seen taking in a pot to add to his decent size stack. Earlier this summer Fashakin took down a field of 28,371 and won the bracelet in the WSOP Big 50 event. Can he possibly do the unthinkable and add the most prestigious bracelet of the WSOP to his already dream come true summer?

Torre Comes from Slim Equity to Win Massive Three-Way All In

Nível 14 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Giovani Torre
Giovani Torre

A player in early position limped in, Shyam Srinivasan made it 16,000, and two players behind called, as did the limper. On the {3-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades} flop, the limper bet 30,000, Srinivasan made it 100,000 and Hertsel Levy stuck it in from the cutoff for about 235,000. Small blind Giovani Torre jammed as well for 290,000 and Srinivasan quickly called after the other player mucked.

Giovani Torre: {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}
Hertsel Levy: {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}
Shyam Srinivasan: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}

Srinivasan was happy to be gambling with solid equity against a couple of sets, but he was left wanting on the {5-Diamonds} turn. It was Torre who improved on the river, nailing quads with the {3-Hearts}. He celebrated loudly and Srinivasan was disgusted with his miss.

John "The Razor" Phan (earlier during the Main Event)
John "The Razor" Phan (earlier during the Main Event)

John Phan raised to 13,000 from the hijack and Chris Hunichen three-bet to 30,000 on the button. Action folded back to Phan who made the call.

Hunichen asked if he could quickly have a look at Phan's stack.

"Don't worry, more than enough," Phan replied.

The flop came {q-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and Phan checked. Hunichen threw in five 25,000-value chips to put Phan all-in. Phan looked at his cards once more before folding them.

Kihara Chips Up With a Straight

Nível 14 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Picking up the action on the {k-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades}{4-Spades} turn, Naoya Kihara bet 62,000 and picked up a call by Adam Duong from one seat over. The {k-Clubs} river paired the board and Kihara now checked. Duong bet 50,000 and Kihara gave it some thought, tossed in two T-25,000 with the words "okay, just call."

Duong rolled over the {a-Clubs}{k-Spades} for trip kings and Kihara had that beat with {7-Spades}{5-Spades}.

On the heads-up turn of {10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{5-Hearts}, Mark Gregorich check-shoved into a bet of 25,000 and his opponent was not willing to call the 134,500 to see Gregorich chip up without showdown.
