Steury Takes From Herzali

Nível 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

On a flop reading {5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}, the small blind checked and Sarah Herzali bet 5,100 from middle-position. Aaron Steury called from the button along with the small blind who check-called as well.

The dealer burned and turned the {10-Diamonds} and the small blind checked once more. Herzali also checked, and Steury threw in a bet of 14,000. The small blind folded and Herzali check-called.

The {q-Spades} completed the board and was checked around. Herzali tabled {8-Spades}{8-Hearts} which wasn't good enough as Steury revealed {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts} to win the pot.

Wayne Whittinghill's Full House Reaps a Huge Double

Nível 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Wayne Whittinghill was seen pulling back around 100,000 he had placed next to an "All In" disk, as his {j-}{9-} on the felt gave him a full house on the {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} board.

His opponent held {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts} for a flopped flush, and was forced to pay the big sum to Whittinghill, who has chipped up nicely around the halfway point of Day 2ab.

After another two hours on the felt, the players are heading on another 20-minute break mid-way through level eight. They will return to the blinds at 600/1,200 with a 1,200 big blind ante for another hour. Here is what took place in the past two hours on Day 2ab:

Aces are Good for Carroll

Nível 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Taylor Carroll raised in early position to 2,600, the hijack, small blind and big blind all came along.

The flop came {q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}, both blinds checked to Carroll who continued for 6,500 and only the hijack called.

The turn was the {k-Spades} and Carroll fired again, this time for 16,000 and his opponent made the call once again.

The {3-Diamonds} fell on the river and Carroll checked, his opponent bet 26,000 and after giving it some thought he threw in a 25,000 chip to make the call.

The opponent said, "You win, eight-high" as he tabled {8-Spades}{7-Spades} and Carroll tabled {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} to scoop the pot.

A Fifteen-Minute River Adventure Yields Dividends for Vogelsang

Nível 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

A player had checked in the big blind facing a {j-Hearts}{3-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{k-Clubs} board, and Christoph Vogelsang had a bet of 14,000 in front of him. The big blind tanked for a few minutes before check-raising to 32,000.

Vogelsang spent a few minutes in the tank himself, before electing to three-bet shove for 74,300. This sent the big blind deep into the tank, as more than six minutes passed while the big blind counted up chips, held the calling amount in his hand, and stared at Vogelsang at various points. A clock was called, but it would be two more minutes before they could arrive due to other floor decisions at other tables.

Once the clock was finally called, the countdown reached one before the big blind finally mucked his hand, awarding the pot to Vogelsang and bringing a few sighs of relief from the duo's tablemates.

VanderWoude Busts One

Nível 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Joining the action on the {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} turn, Michael Vanderwoude faced a bet of 7,700 and pushed all in. His opponent called with the {j-Clubs}{j-Spades} for a set while Vanderwoude had turned the nuts with {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}. The {2-Diamonds} on the river was a blank and Vanderwoude had reason to celebrate.

Leonard Low

Nível 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Patrick Leonard has been left with just 22,000 after his most recent battle with Takao Shimizu.

The players went to showdown, and Shimizu tabled {k-}{k-} from the hijack which was good for a set. Leonard smiled and shook his head before passing his cards to the dealer from middle position, and will now be battling to chip up.
