Ensan Folds on River

Nível 1 : 100/200, 200 ante

Christopher Hovey raised to 700 from an early position, Hossein Ensan flatted in the cutoff, and a player in the small blind joined them to the {9-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. Ensan bet 1,100 in position and only the small blind called as Hovey gave up.

The {10-Hearts} turn went check-check and Ensan faced a bet of 3,500 when the {7-Diamonds} landed on the river. Ensan double checked his stack-size and then folded.

Liu Arrives in Amazon Tan

Ping Liu

Ping Liu has just taken his seat on Day 1c in the Amazon Tan section.

Liu opened the 2019 World Series of Poker with a fifth-place finish in the Event #2: $ 10,000 No Limit Hold'em - Super Turbo Bounty for $71,614. Since then, Liu has added an additional four WSOP cashes and seen his lifetime winnings climb to nearly $1.7 million.

For Liu, his last 18 months on the felt have seen him cement himself as one of the stronger players on the circuit. On the recent Season XVII of the World Poker Tour, Liu fell just short of claiming WPT Player of the Year honors after lodging seven cashes and two final tables.

Although known as a cash game grinder in the Los Angeles area, Liu's switch to the tournament circuit has not only been profitable, but also has seen him gain notoriety in the industry as he was nominated for Breakout Player of the Year at the recent Global Poker Awards. Unfortunately for Liu, Ali Imsirovic would claim the trophy, but it would seem that for Californian player Liu, other trophies await in the near future.

Varkonyi Chipping Up

Nível 1 : 100/200, 200 ante

Robert Varkonyi collected a small pot on a board of {2-Spades}{8-Clubs}{j-Spades}{9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} when he bet 1,200 and was called by Daniel Iachan. Varkonyi showed the {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds} for the rivered straight and collected the pot.

"I just proved that it's all luck right there" said Varkonyi, he then queried to Iachan "What did you have a flush draw?"

"Why would I call on the end with a flush draw?" asked Iachan with a perplexed look as Varkonyi collected his chips.

O'Dea Finds Three-Bet Success

Nível 1 : 100/200, 200 ante

A player raised to 600 from the cutoff, and Ireland's Eoghan O'Dea, a 2011 WSOP Main Event November Niner, three-bet to 1,800 on the button. Action folded back to the cutoff, who called.

The cutoff checked the {5-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{q-Clubs} flop to O'Dea, who bet 2,000. That did the trick as his opponent folded.

Josic Calls Clock on Geilich

Nível 1 : 100/200, 200 ante

With 32,000 in the middle, and the board reading {2-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}, Ludovic Geilich checked from the small blind to Perica Josic who was under the gun.

Josic moved all in for roughly 22,000 and Geilich went deep into the tank for several minutes.

Eventually, Josic called the clock, and when a Tournament Director finally appeared and began his speech, Geilich immediately mucked.

Helppi Runs Into a Flush

Nível 1 : 100/200, 200 ante

Juha Helppi opened to 600 in early position and Julio Novo called on the button. Adam Barker three-bet to 2,000 from the small blind and both Helppi and Novo called. The flop came {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and Barker checked to Helppi who bet 3,000. Novo called and Barker flew his cards to the muck.

The turn was the {4-Clubs} and Helppi fired out another bet of 6,000. Novo still called and the {5-Hearts} completed the board. Helppi unleashed a third barrel of 7,500 and Novo wasted little time before calling. Novo flipped over {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for a flush and Helppi was forced to concede the pot.
