Vornicu Eliminated by Zhu

Nível 4 : 300/500, 500 ante
Valentin Vornicu
Valentin Vornicu

It has been a roller coaster day for Valentin Vornicu and his aggressive playing style resulted in heavy swings to his stack. Ultimately, he was left with fewer than half the starting stack and ended up in action against Yueqi "Rich" Zhu minutes after coming back from the break.

On a flop of {5-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades}, Zhu from under the gun check-raised from 2,500 to 6,500 and Vornicu in late position made the call to see the {7-Clubs} on the turn. Zhu pushed all in and Vornicu called for what appeared to be 11,000 remaining.

Valentin Vornicu: {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}
Yueqi Zhu: {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}

The river was the blank {9-Diamonds} and Vornicu was eliminated.

Spinella Makes Small Straight Before Break

Nível 3 : 200/400, 400 ante

Action folded to the player on the button, who raised to 1,000. The small blind called and Anthony Spinella defended his big blind, taking action three ways to a flop of {6-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}. All three players checked and then checked again on the turn {k-Spades}.

The river fell {7-Hearts} and the small blind checked. Spinella bet 2,000 and the player on the button called. The small blind then folded.

Spinella tabled {j-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for a straight and his opponent mucked, resulting in him winning a small pot to get back over six figures as Level 3 expired and the tournament director announced the next 20-minute break.

Veliu Rips it In

Nível 3 : 200/400, 400 ante

Alida Veliu checked a {10-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop from the small blind, and the button bet 2,000. Veliu check-raised to 5,000, and her opponent called.

Veliu bet 5,100 on the {9-Spades} turn, leaving herself just a single 25k chip behind. Her opponent called again.
